Most disappointing movie of the year for me. Not that it was super terrible, but just way to kiddy and childish. I wasn't expecting a Barbie-like transformation, but this film was 100% aimed at little kids. Last time I checked those of us who grew up with Mario are adults now, so would have been good to see some of the theme aimed more at my generation.
Finally got around to GotG vol 3. Can't say I was a fan at all after enjoying the first two movies. I was very surprised to see it has an 80+ rating on IMDB and rotten tomatoes.
The movie seemed very forced to me and the serious, overly emotional tone didn't lend itself to any of the characters imo.
Late to the party but Oppenheimer was amazing. It's really the kind of movie that doesn't get made anymore, OR it gets made and audiences ignore it. Thankfully Christopher Nolan left WB and fought for his movie to not be just dumped onto a streaming platform as content but rather to be seen in theatres as cinema. 30 years from now, a new generation of film goers will watch this movie and be blown away like I was, it's a timeless film.

I think their main goal is to monitize more of the screen, and this is just a test. It's a very slippery slope and I can see in a few years streaming becoming what the bad guy from Ready Player One wanted to do with the Oasis.

To each their own, but GotG Vol. 3 is one of the best superhero movies ever made, IMO.

I'm not sure about the movie as a whole but it was Pratt's best performance in all his marvel appearances.
Don't know where that 'realness' was in all the previous installments but they could've used used it, as opposed to him just playing an insecure clown.
Since the movie leaned so much on its cute animal characters it's hard to say if it was watchable in spite of that or because of it.
At the very least it did some different things and you can't say that about a lot of forgettable third installments.
Just watched the new Indiana Jones. It felt frustratingly close to being a very good movie, but lacking for reasons I can't put my finger on. Still a fun ride though.
I wish there wasn't so much talk about a de-aged Ford, because it was very inconsequential to the movie.
