The Flames couldn't really do anything until the legal proceedings played out, other than letting his contract expire and not resigning him which is what they did.

Dube isn't going to come out and apologize or say anything until the case is settled, and if the Flames had done anything else, they would have been put in position for a defamation suit if he is not found guilty at trial.

To clarify for anyone living under a dirty pile of sweatpants, the difference is the Flames jettison anyone with questionable moral character (criminal or otherwise) whereas the Oilers actively recruit them.

One team has fired 2 coaches for being toxic, and walked away from a player as soon as it was made public that he was implicated in a sexual assault.

The other team has immediately signed 2 players after their contracts were terminated because of allegations of various wrongdoing (including potential sexual assault and/or harassment), and then hired a GM who was involved in a major sexual assault coverup as soon as they were able to.

These are equivalent actions. No one should be throwing stones.

The two players you mentioned, I assume are Perry and the former Vancouver Canuck player (forget his name) but what about Kane? Also wasn't their owner involved in some sort of sexual-related litigation? Culture is bad from the very top.

As for Katz, there has definitely been a lot of smoke, but I think all of that has been walked back, so I left it out as well.
