Oh snap, UEFA has had enough of Barca and Real's clasico BS.

Quote:
Former referee Pierluigi Collina has been sent by UEFA to monitor the performance of Belgian match official Frank de Bleeckere in the final Clasico clash of the season.

Collina, UEFA's current head of referees, is viewed as the finest official of his generation and took command of the second leg the last time Barcelona and Real Madrid faced each other in the Champions League semi-finals in 2002.

Arsenal doing anything to stop the Mancs! Actually they are just doing what any reasonable club would do given the volcanic ash effecting travel plans.

Not really a big deal, but the Arsenal boards are up in arms over this.

United's likely starting 11 tomoro in all competitions. 58 goals

Lionel Messi in all competitions. 52 goals

Plus you didn't mention his 24 assists! Unbelievable player. Not bad for the second best player around!

I am oddly optimistic for the game. I really think MUFC will win this time around and I know I'm in the large minority there. Messi is uncontrollable, but he's up against the best defence in the tournament so who knows - with good tactics, disciplined play, and a bit of luck he can be shut down.

And to put a positive spin on the other outcome, I can't see it being more lopsided than the last Finals meeting between the two clubs!

I certainly think it will be a good game for sure. Rumour is that a 3-4-3 formation has been tried at practice for the Mancs, to be used if they're down. If they go down I guess we'll see how well that works. I still think Barcelona take it though.

They'll clog the midfield with 5 and play Gooney on his own up front.

That would make him third, Joe Cole is the consensus best player going!

Holy crap, is anyone else watching the FOX broadcast of this? The pregame is hilarious, complete with Curt Menefee having a panel and the same theme music they use for their NFL broadcasts. The only thing missing is an animated robot juggling a soccer ball.

I just took a gander over there and although it is a bit goofy, it is much easier to listen to their crew than Craig Forrest.

As soon as Curt Menafee suggested that the Champions League final is bigger than the World Cup I shut it off. So basically two sentences in.

But I am enjoying the game broadcast with Martin Tyler commentating.

Man Messi is just amazing, all he needs is one shot. Best player in the world.

Don't know how Valencia has not been carded yet, he's been awful.

The guys on Man U that are getting owned are Vidic and Ferdinand.

Vidic bailed on Messi's goal by half heartedly telling Evra to take him far too late and Rio just plain pussied out on Villa's. Both times leaving van der Sar for dead.

And United counter brilliantly by trying to get a man sent off by bringing on Paul Scholes.
