He really should have won easily, but a win is a win and he desperately needed to get over the hump. Now we'll see if he can take off an win a few more majors with the monkey off his back.

Not necessarily how he would've wanted it done, but I appreciate him making it an entertaining Masters Sunday. Great moment to witness.

That was incredible

You could just see the relief and emotion and pressure release when that putt went in.

One of only six players in the entire history of golf to win all four majors. Man, what a feat.especially with how talented the fields are today.

I thought Rory had blown it when he missed the birdie putt on the 18th. Then he comes back with a great drive and wedge shot to give him another chance to win. To see him bend to the ground in tears just about says it all. Great drama and great finish!

To say that was dramatic is an understatement and you can’t say anything to minimize what he did. It’s been 25 years since someone won the career Grand Slam, and that last guy was kind of special.

That was one of the most memorable things I’ve ever witnessed in sports.

In the end, Partick Reed was the best Liv golfer.

Rory was able to keep coming back from his mistakes all week - that was the difference for him from previous years. Couldn't be happier for him.

Only downer was that Rose had to be on the losing end.

Agreed about Rose, such a classy player, the anti Patrick Reed

Yeah Rory hit some amazing iron shots on the back nine. I do feel bad for Rose, he played great today but I suppose he was really only in the playoff because the lead kept backing up.

We'll see if Rory goes on a mini run with the weight lifted off. I still think his problem finishing is not going away, but the guy keeps coming back.

That was bananas, and thoroughly amazing. Need that gif of the guy falling down the stairs, then getting up, brushing himself off, smiling and walking away.

Did Scottie put the jacket on him and immediately make a run for it?

It's the second time it's happened in my lifetime that a player has done this. I didn't realize how rare it is until today.

I'm old enough to remember a 46 year old Jack Nicklaus and his magical run in 1986 to win his sixth Green Jacket. The oldest Masters winner at the time. That was amazing when you consider he beat Greg Norman, Seve Ballesteros and Nick Price.

Once again the Masters delivered. Just an awesome event year after year. Admittedly I was not as jazzed this year to watch an American product but so glad I did. Lots of drama, great performances, collapses, and a historical grand slam clinching win.

Happy for Rory. He seems like a genuine guy and has spent much of his career in the shadow of his peers.

Yep, this is it. Rory made some big mistakes (Thursday, 18th on Sunday) but continually came back and didn't let it get to him. Even after some guys were putting up some incredible rounds like Scheff and Rose.

Congrats, but I seriously thought he'd collapse in the playoff after missing that putt.

TBH it wasn't even just 18.

He starts with a double bogey, Dechambeau gets a birdie and all of a sudden Rory's trailing.

He kind of recovers from that goes -4 from hole 3-10.

Then he goes Bogey, Par, Double, Bogey on hole 11-14 and all of a sudden he's trailing again and 2 over for the day.

Then he goes birdie on 15 and 17 to get the lead back...before bogey on 18.

It was a roller coaster all day for Rory but in the end he was able to get his composure back after some of those bad holes instead of completely falling apart.

And really with it being 11 years since his last major win, with 2024 US Open looming over him, and of course the 2011 Masters, there were a lot of chances yesterday for that to get away from him, but he held it together by just enough.

Still the oldest Masters winner. I vividly remember watching this with my Dad. Norman only needed a par on 18 to force a playoff but he went full Norman hitting his anpproach into the stands. Very different than this tournament, Nicklaus made a charge for the ages and didn’t fumble it away.

It will take a lot for a tournament to ever top that one. This one is right there with Mickelson’s first Masters IMO. But the drama on this one was just off the charts.
