Excellent viewing.
I guess every VAR is gonna check 3 things now.
Romero is a dangerous player. I would usually say that's accidental follow through, but knowing him, he knew what he was doing.

Would be peak current Chelsea to not win this 11 v. 9.

Yeah, but also ####ing hilarious. Jackson and Sterling trying to score is comedy gold. I realize Jackson has now scored, but holy he sucks.

Chelsea showing how to win & still walk away looking like a terrible, comedic mess

Yeah, it sucks losing a game after some dumbass calls down 11 v. 9.

If you’re a fan of either team, despite the score, Tottenham should feel better about the players on the pitch. I think they showed character that they’ve missed for years.

As long as we’re not begging for a replay, it’s fine. I’m more concerned about the injuries though. Losing Maddison and VDV was a killer.
Overall, they played really well, I thought. Hopefully Chelsea thinks they’ve got things on the right track, because that team looked bad.

Ange Postecoglou on the refereeing decisions:
"You have to accept the referee's decision, that is how I grew up. This constant erosion of the referee's authority is where the game is going to get - they are not going to have any authority. We are going to be under the control of someone with a tv screen a few miles away. The decision is the decision. In 26 years I have had plenty of bad decisions, I have had plenty fall in my favour. It is what it is."

All joking aside, I had it on in the background and I have to say, if you're a Spurs fan you take that match.
Yeah, you went down to 9 and that sucks, but I thought they played with a ton of heart and drive and played really well as a team.
This could be a catalytic match for them and really bring the team together. If anything though it does still underscore some needs.
Mainly Hojbjerg and Son who, I thought were their absolute best players on the night...they played with real passion...but those guys are getting a little long in the tooth. You could tell at the end of the game they were wiped.

It got out of hand when Spurs started pushing to tie it, but when it was 1-1 you could see that team come together.
Props to Dier as well. Had a solid game coming off the bench

They got a huge ovation after the game and a few of the players commented on how much it meant
Definitely seems like a rallying cry like you mentioned
