Robertson had a lot of great chances. Seguin is broken unfortunately and Benn has gotten slow.

Robertson was semi-invisible this series, but had 40 goals in the regular season and the other 2 guys were by far their best in the series.

Forgetting the fact that the flames couldn’t sign Fox, who’s draft do you take?
Dallas 2017 above vs Flames 2016?
Tkachuk, Fox, Dube?
After listening to Marek earlier today too, interesting as I didn’t realize Dallas traded up to snag Oettinger ahead of the Flyers.

Sutter's first season in San Jose was Hrudey's final year before he retired and there was apparently friction between them.
I don't remember exactly what he said, but a few weeks ago on one of the post-game panels on HNIC, Hrudey talked about it.

Those contracts are going crush them too.
Benn is $9.5m for 3 more years.
Seguin is 9.85 for 5 more years.
Suter is cheaper but also looked pretty washed and he's got 3 more years to go.

Yeah they're in a pickle. The Suter contract was just stupid. Seguin just got injured too many times.

Tough call, but I'd take the Flames.
100 pt winger, a Norris trophy winning defenseman and an up-and-coming winger with potential.
Undoubtedly the Stars had a massive draft in '17 and it's helped to form the core of the future but Oettinger needs some more time to truly establish himself. Goaltending is such a dark art and regression is always a possibility. Binnington comes to mind as a keeper who's taken a small step back in the last season or two.

Flames 2015 - Bread, Razz, and OK
and that was after trading our first three picks.

Reminded me a bit of the Kane goal to win the cup a few years ago. I think it got stuck under the bar inside the net and people weren't sure he scored? Except this time everyone went banao

I like to think that Gaudreau has become an adult after that goal, and will retire Johnny in favor of John.

Forgot about this. Still take 2016 over 2015 but man it sure seems that these two drafts set this version of the flames up. Especially when you consider that the picks traded landed them Dougie Hamilton, which landed them Hanafin and Lindholm (and oddly enough, lost them fox from 2016 lol)
