great stuff... Washington has been another long suffering fanbase so its great to see them get to enjoy the thrills associated with your team playing for a Stanley Cup.

Also a nice story of Ted Leonsis flying out 2 groups of 100 employees out to Vegas to watch Games 1 or 2.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.81ea3ea4e8c2

great to see him rewarding his employees

Crazy save, crazy exciting hockey. VGK are relentless and Holtby was fantastic. What a big game from the Caps. Two outstanding SCF games so far, from the pregames through to the final whistles they have been non-stop entertainment.

Devils and Ducks should get an HM. The series Stevens ruined Karyia, but that went 7 and was crazy that the Ducks got that close.

Hawks Flyers was a crazy series too.

Another great game. Washington looked to have adapted to LV's speed and forecheck and countered well. The question will be can they keep the pace up. LA, SJS and WPG couldn't keep up with LV and they have had more rest than Washington.

Lots of fun. Haven't enjoyed playoff hockey this much since Engelland took on two canucks.

That save by Holtby reminds of Cujo in 1998 with the Oilers.

Just ridiculous.

Interesting, just saw on Sportsnet that the 2004 Flames share the record for most road wins in a playoff season with 10.

Dammit if they could only have won 11.

Can't wait for more of this!!!

Will the caps fatigue set in with more games played or do the bruises set in on Vegas with the Caps playing a very heavy game?

Anytime they elevate the checking game they seem to play some of their best hockey. Game 6 vs Tampa was all about intimidation and wearing the lightning down both physically and mentally. The Knights have been all about wearing teams down mentally with the high pressure game play. Couldn't have drawn up a better final!

It would be sweet to see Vegas and Nashville in the western conference final one day.... a battle of passionate celebrities/musicians!

You could hear them during the 2-1 or 3-1 goal.

Puck luck night. Caps goal hit a guy and went in, and Holtby did the right thing to make the save, but if the puck is raised, it’s in. 2 critical puck luck events went Wash way.

I’m glad the series is tied, both games so far even enough to be 1-1.

Or in other words, if you were to ask if ind team clearly deserved to be up 2-0, I would say no

So are Ovi and MAF still the respective front runners for the Conn Smythe?

Both have cooled off somewhat, but again the trophy is for the body of work in the playoffs. Kuznetsov is making some noise in that department now, although his injury may have ended that conversation.

The best Capital so far this series has been Holtby I think.

Reaves has been a difference maker in both games so far, but Karlsson is really driving a lot of the play for Vegas.

I still can't decide if this is some next level amazing hockey, or this is how hockey is normally played but we have just suffered through such a terrible Flames season that we are now in awe of other teams.

It's playoff hockey. This level of play is something always reserved for the Stanley Cup Finals, and is never on display by any team during the regular season.
