I think in part this is why the rangers wanted a couple of shots at this draft.

The NHL Draft needs a heel GM... a GM that says the host city is a miserable hole and tells the new Stanley Cup champion that they should go #### themselves.

Treliving said something like that as well, but added that there will be all-stars come from this draft. So good players, just probably not high level elite guys.

My belief going into this draft was: if these picks seemingly have such little value, why not scoop up a bunch of them, get some bullets in the chamber.
