Pretty even so far. Neither guy has really taken control of this debate. Kaine went a bit too far with his "Trump is a maniac" bit, (even though he's correct). Pence hasn't been able to convincingly defend anything thrown his way regarding Trump's bigotry and so-called policies.

One thing I've noticed is Kaine nods to the moderator to acknowledge he diagrees and wants a turn, but Pence shakes his head in disagreement. Both get the acknowledgement of moderator that they want to rebut, but Pence gives the clear visual that he disagrees, while Kaine is giving the subtle impression otherwise.

It's amazing how much Pence has contradicted Trump's thoughts on Russia and Crimea. In any other election you'd be puzzled, here you just sort of take it for what it is.
