Eklund doesn't guess, he sees the future.

Only 3 years ago. And a few days prior to that, the now former GM lashed out during the intermission of a game, threatening big changes if effort didn't improve the rest of the game...it didn't, and...yeah, Tim Jackman to a 2 year contract was the only move.

Heard a rumor from a completely unreliable source that says and I quote
"The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames are working on a deal that would see both clubs swap 7th round draft picks".

A trade that works for both teams and would have the fans talking about something.

Come on Treliving, make it happen! Do something! A 4 day break before the trade deadline is killer!

Why not swap 1st round picks?

It would be a bold move McTavish!

You know you want to....

Oilers would have to add to make that a fair trade

I can honestly say that could be one of the most disappointing days I've had as a Flames fan since June 7th, 2004. That was the day Feaster didn't keep him promises, and I wanted him out the door that evening. It was disgraceful that no one was moved that day.

Woah, really? It always felt like everyone stood pat until deadline, save 1 or 2.

Maybe it's not this caliber of trades? ...or I just don't post attention...

Garrioch "rumors":
http://www.ottawasun.com/2015/02/28/...toine-vermette

on Saturday, Blackhaws, Bruins, Blues, Flames and Caps were all chasing the same group of players
with Vermette moved, attention will turn to Stewart, Cole and Glencross

at least 4 teams are pushing for Glencross including Chicago and Boston
there are 6-7 teams that wouldn't mind having Glencross

Blue Jackets are shopping Cam Atkinson because they are unsure of what he might demand as a RFA
BJs asking for a top prospect which makes it doubtful he will be moved

Bruins are getting calls on Ryan Spooner

Yandle talks have heated up, as teams see the possibility of having him for two playoff runs before he becomes UFA
Red Wings are believed to make a hard push

2 of Gryba, Wiercioch and Phillips might be moved as the Sens have other blueliners that they can give a chance to play

Stars have had calls from 7-8 teams for Cole
Blues, Hawks, Bruins and Sharks have made calls

Blues would like to add forward depth
Berglund's name is out there.

I think the Sharp thing was screwing people up as well
The fact that he is off the market officially due to the 48 hour clause will help the log jam
Expect Stewart, Cole, and Glencross to start moving now

I could see Tampa, Washington or even the Rangers winding up with Glencross in that order

I think the Rangers will get Cole

Why would the Blues move out Berglund to get forward depth? He is forward depth.

He's posting LW and more of a checking role with Paul Stastny, David Backes and Jori Lehtera all at center.

I would imagine they are looking for more RW depth, same reason Flames want to move Glencross but are looking for depth... guess a Berglund and Glencross trade isn't happening...

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline
Told #NYR are among teams to show interest in #CBJ Cam Atkinson. For Rangers, move may depend on if Mats Zuccarello is traded.

He's only above Eklund because he's a writer for a newspaper, other than that he's just another idiot who has never broken a trade...ever!

If anything he's worst than Eklund because he's harder to ignore.

@DarrenDreger: Should be an interesting day for the Flames. Will Glencross expand list? Will a team on the list step up? Calgary hoping to land a D-man.

More speculation than rumor but here's an article from Sportak on some flames apart from Glencross who may be on the move. Apologies if duplicate.

Hard to argue with his reasoning. Lyle Richardson doesn't think we'd be moving too many pieces but in order to get you have to give.

In summary here's who he thinks may be available.

Backlund
Hudler
Ramo/Hiller
raymond
Bollig

I wonder if Glencross to Detroit may not be the final destination. No idea what Calgary would want in return player wise, and their 2nd rd pick would be a very late one so maybe no real match there.

Dont think Treliving moves Hudler or Backlund at this point, those would be summertime deals.

One of the G's getting dealt would not be shocking at all....still think you get a lot more for Hiller than Ramo.
