I could be misremembering, but I believe that when the Als broke the Cup for the first time a few years ago, the CFL said they were going to be redesigning the base of it after the centennial game. Obviously, that didn't happen, but they may have no choice but to do something now.

The CFL is constrained by the fact that the current look has become iconic. They will (or have) redesigned it, but the overall look will be very similar. And there is no way that the real Cup only has plates up to 2008. When I saw it earlier this year, it had everything to 2012, but I never checked to see where or if 2013 was added, since that was the point they ran out of space.
