Good win for Liverpool. I'll take it, I love seeing Henderson get one.

Wow wenger just gave mourinho a shove.
Arsene looked like he had almost a foot on Jose who looked a little afraid and backed away. Because I know he doesn't have a cool head.
Not the right thing to do but kind of funny after all the running of his mouth the little portugese fella has done.

19 year old Paddy McNair neutralizes Lukaku for 90 minutes, 19 year old James Wilson comes on for Falcao and 21 year old Tyler Blackett comes on for Shaw ... so much for United "selling their identity". Add Januzaj, Pereira, Thorpe and Lingard and the criticism becomes even more laughable.
Vital win against Everton. De Gea was excellent today - first saved a Baines penalty (Baines' first penalty miss in the PL ever) and then had 2 brilliant saves against Osman towards the end.
Hope the Stones injury is not too serious

I imagine that for most teams the 5th-6th-7th choice CBs are going to be academy players

sure. It's still about giving chances - van Gaal could have easily opted for a more experienced player like Fletcher or Blind at CB, especially after the Leicester fiasco. Putting in a 19 year old without any pro experience in that situation is pretty bold. Most managers would have played it safe with Fletcher or Blind, I imagine.

McNair further cements his status as a legitimate United CB.

McNair has now been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Roy Keane on Robbie Savage...
Quote:
“I rang Mark Hughes. Robbie [Savage] wasn’t in the Blackburn team and I asked Mark if we could try to arrange a deal. Sparky said: ‘Yeah, yeah, he’s lost his way here but he could still do a job for you.’ Robbie’s legs were going a bit but I thought he might come up to us [at Sunderland], with his long hair, and give us a lift – the way Yorkie [Dwight Yorke] had, a big personality in the dressing room. Sparky gave me permission to give him a call. So I got Robbie’s mobile number and rang him. It went to his voicemail: ‘Hi, it’s Robbie – whazzup!’ like the Budweiser ad. I never called him back. I thought: ‘I can’t be ####ing signing that.’”

Ironically, I'm finally into Fergies book. Just finished the Roy chapter, and the MUTV fiasco. Decent read.

A couple of days ago I read this article comparing the number of injuries Arsenal have had since 2002 compared to other teams. 889 injuries for Arsenal, while Liverpool had 500-something. There is clearly something wrong at Arsenal, I'd guess the training, as a majority of injuries muscles, particularly hamstrings and calves, as well as ankle and knee injuries. Arsenal brought in a new fitness trainer, but it hasn't helped so far. I really don't know how many of these injuries can be blamed on training, but it has to be a factor. I'd like to see a study of squad rotation and number of games played. More games means more opportunities for injuries, and more fatigue. Arsenal usually aren't as deep as other big clubs, and they have made the group stage of Champs League I think 18 straight years. With Theo and Gnabry coming back, this might not be such a bad thing. Slot Alexis in the hole, Theo out wide on the right, I think that is a better lineup. Just sucks to shell out $42 Million or so and be better off without the guy.
