For me, he slots anywhere in that 2nd tier of forwards with Granlund, Arnold, Knight and Reinhart - trying to crack the NHL lineup but without the upside of the Gaudreau, Baertschi, Poirier, Klimchuk group.

Hayes if he becomes an NHLer (imo likely with his size/skill), will be a much better player than Reinhart.

I do think the chance to play with your college buddies is a really good lure to bring Hayes to Calgary. Plus there is just as much opportunity on the flames to make the team as there is on any other team.

New York has the advantage of consistently being a playoff team and the fact that it is a really cool place to live.

Another article mostly rehashing what we already know. Names the Rangers, Flames and Panthers as possible destinations.

The Calgary Flames also have been a popular speculative destination since they drafted and signed Hayes' good friends and former BC linemates Bill Arnold and Gaudreau. There's a really easy recruiting pitch in there as the trio was the most productive line in some years in college hockey. The Flames also have a weaker NHL roster down the wings, with not a lot in the pipeline either. That could be a match, but don't call it good just yet.

If I was K. Hayes, and looked at the Flames' RW depth, I think my decision would be a lot easier/clearer on where I'd have a good chance to play. Chicago is stacked, Florida looks like they don't really as much room as they used to have with all of the free agent signings. I think he'll come here.

Based on his play at the World Championships, I'd say, no. He will probably need the full season in the AHL, but could be call-up material in the second half of the season.

The most attractive part about Hayes to the Bruins, beyond being a right-winger, and size/skill: the cost. As an NCAA free agent, Hayes would still need to agree to an entry level deal, and his maximum cap hit would be a team-friendly $900,000, along with any bonus money agreed to in the contract. It would essentially be like putting one of their own homegrown rookies into the lineup with minimal cost. There's also the chance they could have a legit NHL player, based on his first-round ability and production at Boston College.

Other teams, such as Montreal, Colorado and San Jose, have been mentioned as potential suitors for Hayes should he become a free man on Aug. 15, but it shouldn’t be very difficult to sell the local kid on a chance to make a difference right off the bat for the Black and Gold.

He is a left shot, so it’s not the perfect fit for Chiarelli and Claude Julien in their preference for strict left shot/left wing-right shot/right wing division, but just about everything else feels right about a potential marriage between Hayes and the Bruins.

Interesting enough in the article Haggerty does talk about Florida and Calgary being potential destinations, but this twitter conversation happend after he posted the article:

Pretty much says as any Boston kid would love to play for the Bruins and that the Bruins would most likely give him an opportunity to play with Krecji. The Bruins are pretty weak at RW at the NHL level.

Just looked at Boston's depth chart, and Hayes could be a fit there. They have nothing on RW. I'm not sure how long Boston is going to be that good though. That is a pretty crappy depth chart. They are spending an ungodly amount of money on some good players, but not great players. $6M for Lucic? $4.5M for Marchand? $3M for Kelly? $7M for Rask? $3.4 for Boychuck? That's a lot of coin. No wonder they are in cap hell.

It is a very confusing series of tweets.

AFAIK Haggerty does not really break news, and yes he does post speculation more than anything.

However, the Hayes family is from the Boston area, so he might be hearing things.
