Can't remember who it was who met Johnny and Mama Gaudreau in person, but I remember them telling the Gaudreau's that there's a "million people in Calgary waiting anxiously for him to come play". Obviously they passed it off at the time as a complimentary exaggeration but boy when they get to Calgary the family's going to think "Boy...that internet fellow wasn't kidding."

Equally might be a stretch, but if Gaudreau didn't exist I think Bill Arnold would create quite a stir. Would hate to lose this guy off the Flames prospect list by trade or August 16th.
He has 1000 game guy written all over him, like the Joel Otto comparison but wonder if he has some Craig Conroy in him too ... that 2/3 two way center kind of guy.

I really have to thank everyone on this board.
Back in the day as a die hard Flames fan when playoffs were pretty much a sure thing and the regular season an 82 game tune up, I did not pay much attention to prospects or draft picks. Even the names of the very best of the junior players (aside from those that were front page news such as Sidney Crosby) were foreign to me.
Fast forward several years and I must say it's pretty exciting to learn about and watch kids develop who, hopefully will become household names (and future stars) in this wonderful city of ours, and the cornerstone of the team we all love.
