Hartley is playing his instincts with his goalies. I have no problem with starting MacDonald on those games. He was playing well and Hartley was just waiting for Joey Mac before he switch to Ramo. Tonight's game even if Flames lose 4-1 or 4-3 or even in OT, Hartley will not blame Ramo on all those 4 goals...especially the last one and the first one. So, i can see Hartley going back to Ramo next game unless Ramo let in some bad goals in the 3rd period.

Yep, Brodie is awful.
A bad game from him for sure but some of the post here... at least this place is entertaining when the game is not.

To be fair we have handcuffed ourselves this period with the excess penalty time, but at the same time Brodie hasn't been our strongest player all game.

I'm an optimist so... Even though the Flames look bad tonight they don't look 10-2 debacle bad. Sometimes you have to look a little harder for the positives.

Alright, big comeback time!
Man I feel bad for Ramo, he's been having a solid game but it's just a shooting gallery out there right now. Hopefully the Flames make it a bit easier for him in the third.
Watching this game though does make me think that Ramo does have a very similar style to when Niemi first entered the league. Would be pretty awesome if he can continue to develop to Niemi like play by the time Gillies comes calling.

Even though no one will blame Rämö, I definitely think that they're going back to the "winning goalie" after this. Let's just hope it won't take weeks for him to get another game.

Guys like Brodie are going to have bad games and stretches of games. It's not a big deal because they can learn from it. Guys like Butler, Glencross, and SOB, not so much. They should know better.

I think Kipper usually stops that 4th goal. Ramo has to be aware that guys standing there. Can't blame him for not getting help as the defensemen were way out of position on that last one.

Beyond playing a lot more, Brodie is also getting the toughest minutes (penalty kill, most defensive zone starts, tougher matchups). At 23, he is bound to have a few tough nights like this. Likening him to Butler is ridiculous.

My thoughts too. MacDonald is the definition of a throw away goalie and should have been put in to absorb what was likely going to be a ####-show. Throwing Ramo out against possibly the best team in the league after having him sit for 2 weeks seems like a set-up.
I actually like Hartley as a coach, but this wreaks of head-games.

Ramo was hung out to dry on all 4 of those goals.
