The beat is bad and the hook is corny but lyrically this is the Em that I want to hear. Let's hope that he is rapping like this for majority of the album
I'd give it 6.5/10, its ooookay. I'm waiting on Because The Internet, listened to a couple of youtube videos of the listening parties and it sounds like it has some real potential.
On a side note, I've realized how much Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap mix tape is one of my favourite of all time. I'm still listening to it surprisingly.

I know right! When the mix tape first came out, I gave it a quick few listens and thought it was good, but Favorite Song was the only one I had on repeat. After a while, I grew to love the whole project and now I find myself quoting it way too often hah
Edit: My buddies tell me that this Vic Mensa guy and the Underachievers have a similar style to Chance, so I'm planning on listening to the two when I get the time. Anyone recommend any certain tracks?

I wouldn't compare Underachievers to Chance at all. If anything they're like a cross between Joey Bada$$ and Flatbush Zombies, which makes sense because they're all from the same neighbourhood. As for song suggestions, their Indigoism mixtape is pretty good, I would recommend: T.A.D.E.D., Gold Soul Theory, The Mahdi, and Leopard Shepard. I haven't really listened to much of their new mixtape yet so I can't really recommend anything off that, and then they have a song that samples Gimme Shelter called The Proclamation which is pretty good.

So as far as Canadian Hip Hop goes, DL Incognito is a modern day legend IMO.
It's been out for a while, but I just bought the vinyl of his latest album Someday is Less Than A Second Away. Wow. Just an impeccably produced album by him. A Sample and a Drum Machine can't be touched, but this newest album is his second best hands down.
I highly recommend checking it out.
Also get D-Sisive's newest album the d.ark tape. He collaborated with is old producer The Arkeologists (aka Norman Krates) to put this one out. It was all done in one (!) take, which is mind blowing in itself.
