Makes sense. If you're going to build your offense around a QB that can move the pocket and is dangerous on his feet having a backup that can run that offense is helpful, especially with the beating that Vick tends to take.

Yeah, plus Young has a pretty impressive record as a starter. The guy can get it done when he has a strong defense and good weapons to surround him.

He can get it done when the defense and running game wins the game.
But I guess it makes sense to have two QB's with similar skill sets on the roster.
With these two "geniuses" it must be easy on Reid making the playbook can't be more than one or two pages if that.

Sproles will fit in nicely to the role Reggie had.
Carolina is dropping some serious coin this year, and they just traded for the Bears TE Greg Olsen.

4 years, $14M for Sproles, $6M guaranteed.
Love it, perfect replacement for Bush. Loomis is really earning his money this week.

Sounds like the Phins backup plan to Orton is Matt Moore. Please just make the trade for Orton.

Apparently, it’s now down to two teams. As NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports, Asomugha will sign either with the Jets or the Cowboys, and some believe Dallas actually is the favorite.

McGahee runs hard. I like.
I hope Moreno takes off though.
If Orton starts.....

The Saints tried him in that role a few different times (most recently late last season, with all our injuries at the position), and he could never make it more than 2-3 weeks before he was standing in street clothes alongside the rest of em on the sidelines.
As a change of pace back though, I think he can flourish. I have no problems whatsoever with calling him one of the top 5 athletic players in the entire league. It's just a matter of how you use him, and most importantly, not over-using him.

Word is that nothing of the sort was promised, or expected, and that Bush will liekly be a 10-15 touches back with Thomas doing the bulk of the work. It's a perfect role for Bush, the question is whether Thomas can perfrom in his role to allow it to happen.

Loving all the rookie contracts getting signed so fast this year too. Nothing I hated in sports more than rookie holdouts.

TS mentioned after practice today that as of right now he feels Bush can carry the ball both on first and second downs but I agree with you. He will only see ~15 touches per game including passes.
They also cut LB Channing Crowder.
And I have to think that the Fins are still in on Orton. I just don't think they would let Vince Young or any other potential starting QB go by without making a couple of offers. If they seriously think that Henne and Moore are going to lead them to the playoffs, then Ireland and Sparano should be fired immediately.
