My 10-yr-old got her 1st dose this afternoon.
That's everyone in the family done (or at least started) now - I'm feeling great about that.

I'm getting excited to get my 3rd dose... yes, me, the guy who has fainted on over 3/4 of the needles I've been given (either blood tests or vaccinations).
I can't wait for it even though I don't know when I can go.
I'm also booked for my flu shot this week.

Appointments for this age group can be booked starting tomorrow for appointments starting Monday.
My six-month mark is next Thursday, so it should be close for them expanding to the 40+ age group by then.

Yeah, kinda stupid that they're doing this age group nonsense again. Six months is six months, just let people book them, you f-ckwits.

I remember reading somewhere ages ago that Moderna was stronger than Pfizer, because of the various levels they tried in initial testing. Their "second strongest" dose was quite low, so not good enough whereas the one they went with ended up being stronger than it probably needed to be.

Does anyone know what time you can start booking tomorrow for people over 60? It just says booking starts tomorrow everywhere without a specific time. Looking to book online.

We leave for Hawaii on Jan 14. My wife and I are in the 30+ group so we are hoping we can get the booster and go 14 days before our trip.

I'm fine with it until we hit the younger ages, prevents rewarding the queue jumpers, and someone 60 years of age 6 months post shot 2 is vulnerable compared to a 30 year old in the same situation.

Had an idea!

But you'd think that they have enough capacity to handle anyone over 6 months who wants the booster. Unless with the kids being booked there is a bit of a limitation right now.

I can see them wanting to maintain an orderly rollout, at least off the bat. They probably have no idea what the demand will be, and want to avoid any poor publicity.

Why? You’re at higher risk of hospitalization with age. The purpose is to reduce the amount of hospitalizations.

What's the wait period for the vaccine after getting covid? Both my kids are positive at the moment (7&8yrs old). They're fine, but I'd like to get them vaxxed so we can carry on with life.

Our 6-year-old grandson got his this week.
Mom: so, K, you were so brave. I’m proud of you.
K: (big smile) that was easy.
M: you get another in a couple of months.
K: wait, what?

We don't have a supply issue, and people that got their shots in other jurisdictions that permitted them to do so aren't 'queue jumpers', so this is just government incompetence adding delay for its own sake. Manitoba already opened it up for anyone 18+ that had their shot >6 months ago.

Most people in the lower age range aren't post 6 months. Grandma shouldn't have to compete with the computer savvy 30 somethings.

But if there isn't an issue with supply or the queue being full, there is no reason to restrict anyone from setting up their appointment and getting it done.
