I hate to be the bearer of Bad News for Kathleen Kennedy....but South Park is too big for her.
If she had any sense, she'd have a hearty chuckle and move on and try and pretend it never happened.
You cannot Bully Matt and Trey.
Totally. There's been a couple celebrities I can think of like this, Snookie and Lorde, probably more out there. Snookie wears it as a badge of honor and rightfully so, she was featured on South Park! What could be cooler than that?!
Even the Mormon church takes the right approach to Parker and Stone and by doing so probably see a net benefit.
I always appreciate when a celebrity has a meaningful takeaway from being featured. Russell Crowe comes to mind, he was asked about it in an interview and gave an answer full of self reflection, it was great. South Park seems to have helped him grow as a person.
I'm thinking KK doubles down and becomes a regular on the show.

To be fair Kennedy has not said anything about South Park at all, so far it's just an angry ex-employee ranting on Twitter about her

I think most celebrities have taken it in stride. Cesar Millan was one who absolutely loved it, I believe. The Lorde thing was pretty funny because they only expanded the original joke after Spin Magazine criticized them for it, while Lorde herself seemed to find it very funny from the get-go. I don't think many were dumb enough to challenge them. Streisand (although that was early in the series), Kanye, the Scientology crowd around Cruise ... sure.
The Kathleen Kennedy parody wasn't even that brutal ... there's a ton of celebrities who were ripped a lot harder on SP. I liked the Musk/Zuckerberg references when the handymen got super-rich, but that had even more potential.
The last 2 years, they did a 6-episode season of regular episodes in February/March. They didn't do that this year.
Prior to COVID, they would usually do 10-episode seasons from September to December, so maybe they'll go back to that this fall.
I read some speculation they won’t make any new episodes until they get a new contract.
Iirc they signed a $500 million dollar contract with hbo max for streaming but only for the episodes. Then they signed a massive deal with paramount for movies and specials. And have only made movies/specials since. I believe hbo is suing because of it. But their contract with Parker and Stone is up soon.
I suspect they’ll keep making specials to keep their new business daddy happy until paramount buys the rights to the episodes, then maybe we’ll get another proper season.
Although in Canada I’m pretty sure paramount owns the rights to both movies and episodes so it may not make a difference for Canadian viewers.
They signed a deal with Viacom/CBS/Comedy Central in 2021 to cover production of the series through season 30 in 2027, which includes 14 streaming "movies" for Paramount+: https://www.southparkstudios.com/new...e-through-2027

I’d say with it being an election year it’s a safe bet that they’ll get something going by the fall. What they did with Mr. Garrison during the 2016 election was nothing short of brilliant.
