There's the Angel Hernandez that we all know and love.
But trust him, he not bad, he's just discriminated against.

Beautiful double play to get out of that.
Ryu isn't super sharp tonight, but he's battling. Hopefully he can get some more run support.
Edit: on cue...Clement!

Sometimes I wonder if he has an undiagnosed pathological attention seeking behavior disorder. He seems to want people to talk about him, even if it's bad.

I loved Siddall’s description of the conversation between catchers and the umps. Catchers need the patience of Job to be able to deal with jackasses like Hernandez.

How your strike zone can be so inconsistent it really has no logically sense behind it. You know sometimes you'll see an ump who calls ballad and strikes slightly out of the zone or inside the zone but they call the same pitch all game for both teams, it's basically just how their strike zone is set up. To have an ump though that one pitch here is a strike then a few pitches latter it's a ball as to be frustrating to a batter and pitcher as they can't figure out what will be called

The role of an ump is like any position of power - politicians, cops, etc - a position of power can attract some people who seek power for ego sake. Angel is that guy.

I’d get ejected within 10 pitches if I was a catcher in a Hernandez game

Probably Schneider's worst 3 AB's of the season so far. Which is totally cool because the guy has been making plays at 3B. But what was Springer doing the previous AB??? 3-0 count and he swings at one high and wide. This team is so dumb sometimes.

If the Jays don’t score here, they should let Ryu go for another inning. I don’t like using the bullpen just for the sake of using them. I remember after the all star break, we had a really well rested bullpen and then within a week, they were totally burned out.

Glad to see Vlad with a leisurely stroll up the first base line. Thin air…I guess.
