McDavid has to be the most cringeworthy face/personality (or lack thereof) of any professional sports team or professional league in all of sport. I don’t think it is even close.

Yeah but he owns the braggadocio synonym of "let's go"

A piece of cardboard has more personality than McDavid. Oiler fans will say "who cares what his personality is like. Look what he does on the ice!"

Sure, the guy has crazy skills and scores lots of goals. Good for him. You know what else he does on the ice? Lose. Every single time. Dude hasn't won squat since turning pro, he sucks defensively, and he's an entitled, piss-poor leader. I predict he'll leave Dumpsterville the first chance he gets. He ain't getting any younger, and if he wants to try and chase a Cup, it's definitely not gonna happen with the Oilers.

He was close to signing with them last year, but Winnipeg offered him a contract instead. Poor guy can't escape their clutches.

$36M in Career Earnings, a decent chunk of that from the Oilers.

What this really means though...the Oilers are Cap desperate, they need warm bodies to play positions for League Minimum.

From what I can gather, the Gagner try-out may end up being a Player Development coach dealy.

I can only imagine their PTO tryout offer came about pulling out the 8-point night video they likely have in their most prized archives and couldn’t resist offering him something.

How are they bringing in any PTOs, absolutely zero cap space. Haven’t signed Bouchard and they only have $3.5MM. Only reason is if they move Foegele and sign Gagner or Sutter and free up about $1-1.5MM to sign Bouchard to a one or two year bridge

I don't think he's old enough, either, to be part of the 'ole boys club. Sumthin's up.

Bob Stauffer also said that Brandon Sutter will be joining the team on a PTO.

I don't even know if desperate is how you describe signing a 34-year old whose last NHL game was May 1, 2021.

Edmonton doesn't sign players based on the game. They sign them based on the name.

They will probably start the season with 12 forwards and 7 D so they have $4.2 to sign Bouchard. Rumors have him at $3.9-$4 so if that happens they will have $200k left over.

If any PTO gets a contract it will likely be at league minimum, so that PTO player would take the spot of Lavoie or Pederson and be equal money.

Pretty sure these are BS stories made up to keep EDM in the news cycle and make it look like they're doing something.
