Harsh? Using disgusting to describe these deplorables is too nice for them.

Trump still has a lot of catching up to do if he wants to catch up to the Bush's for heainously evil acts unleashed upon the world. Bush sr was director of the CIA during a time that the CIA was knee capping developing nations all over the world in the name of american imperialism, he even successfully set up the infrastructure that this subjugation has been maintained in some form to the present day. I doubt the summary of trump's heinous acts even comes close to matching that.

Was going to bring them up. If people knew how much shady stuff was done under both Bush presidents they would buy a one way ticket off this planet. They are folksy, and that puts people at ease, but they are more folksy in a Deliverance sort of way.

Here's something to focus on.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/20/o...ffe-trump.html

Trump's appointed National Intelligence Director is destroying the national intelligence mechanism from the inside through political hackery.

I wonder if people racing in the Senate and House are happy about all of the attention that Trump is demanding. They are sliding under the radar while everyone looks at the barn fire, but if ever a housecleaning needed to be done...

Oh I agree, it’s just rare to have such truth in advertising.

There are double the amount of Independents than Dems or Reps that voted early. Are these the snowbirds? Can they vote?

I still can’t get my mind around knowing the registration of people who have voted.

It just means registered independents.

Don’t read too much into the party registration numbers; there have been substantially more registered Democrats in the electorate on Florida for a long time, and that hasn’t translated into winning many statewide elections. Party registration doesn’t necessarily correspond to that number of votes for a party.

More telling is the county by county breakdown as we likely have a better idea of what to expect there. Democrats need tons of votes from urban counties like Broward and Miami-Dade, and Trump needs big turnout and margins from rural counties in the panhandle and similar areas.

With that said you’d probably rather be the Democrats at this stage; higher turnout is usually better for Democrats, and is almost always bad for the incumbent in a presidential election.

I'm sorry, when did I think it was no big deal? I said it wasn't criminal. That doesn't mean I condone it. And putting words in my mouth so you can attack that, does nothing for the conversation.

It means that independents are using early voting more than anyone else. Nothing more. You vote where your primary residence is or where you are registered, so snowbirds cannot vote in Florida. If they are registered in Florida that would mean their primary residence is in Florida and they would not be considered a snowbird.

Some other numbers of interest, there are 5.04M registered Democrats, 4.79M registered Republicans, and 3.78M registered independents. So based on the numbers collected by the state to this point, the returns look like this:

Republican votes cast = 1,221,835, or 25.5% of registered voters
Democrat votes cast = 1,708,632, or 33.4% of registered voters
Independent votes cast = 1,310,860 or 34.7% of registered voters

Read into this what you will, but these numbers have to be concerning for the incumbent. Early voting across the country has been a 2-to-1 advantage for the Democrats, so the narrative of the count on election night being stacked in Trump's favor may not come true. The enthusiasm for early voting has been stunning to the states. Early voting doesn't show who is voting for who, but it does clearly show voter enthusiasm and people wanting to get their votes on record.

The numbers coming out of Texas are absolutely stunning. 31.35% of voters have already cast their vote. Of just under 17M voters, 5.315M Texans have already voted. In 2016 at about the same time, only 5.91% of Texans voted early. These numbers are... shocking. Are we seeing an enthusiasm gap?

I really hope these numbers end up displaying a complete landslide victory for Biden in 2 weeks. I would get a lot of satisfaction to see Trump embarrassed and trounced at the polls on Nov. 3rd.

Might even restore some of my faith in humanity in the residents of the US.

The really scary thing is if (hopefully when) Biden wins, the circumstances won't matter. Either way it'll be proof that the election was rigged and the Democrats cheated.

Biden wins a slim victory:
Trump - "They never would have won if it wasn't for cheating. It's so close I obviously won if you only count the real votes"

Biden wins in a landslide:
Trump - "There's no way he could have won so big. It's obviously fake, and they cheated!"
