Vlad with the lazy jog around the bases as the slowest player in the world at any sport including chess is running to second…

Jays win...anyone care?

Bassitt with a great day throwing 8 innings and just 3 hits.

Jays win the series despite the unfortunate ending to last night's game. Onto another bottom feeder team.

Apparently when I don't watch or even bother checking the score until late in the day the Jays do well.

Good to know.

9 straight games vs terrible teams. This will be the true litmus test. 5-4 or 6-3 won't cut it. 7-2 or better will send a clear message that this team can truly take care of business when they need to.

That’s the way it works for me too.

Watch the game = likely loss. Forget it was on and check the score hours later = likely win.

A lot of interesting names on the waiver wire to watch today. With this being the last day for teams to add players eligible for the post season expect a lot of action. Jays apparently have interest in a reunion with Grichuk or Hunter Renfroe. Trying to add some more right handed power.

I'd be fine with either again, even Grichuk. It would provide some insurance for outfield defense since neither Kiermaier or Springer's health are a certainty. It's nice that Merrifield and Biggio can play outfield, but it shouldn't be our first option. Plus, with Bo out again, those guys are needed on the infield.

It makes sense to pick up one instead of a September callup from the farm.

None of the players were claimed by the Jays. Renfroe and Bader went to the Reds and the pitchers all went to Cleveland.

Grichuk was unclaimed.

I’d like the league to change the rules around waiving players…it seems really problematic that a team can just dump everyone onto the market.

I wonder if they could change the rules so that, once past the trade deadline, any waived player that was picked up would still count against the luxury tax balance for the team that they were on. The waiving team would be free from paying the prorated amount, if the player was claimed, but the contract would still count against the waiving team’s luxury tax calculation for the remainder of the season.

I'd just like them to stop one team from getting multiple players. That's just stupid that one team claimed all 3 of the pitchers.

So that Colorado lineup is a whole bunch of "who?"

This series scares me. Jays should steamroll a team like this. But this season it's anyone's bet.

Yeah, if a team successfully claims a guy, they should move to the bottom of the waiver list.
