Invermere is dry. I know a few people who have been riding there the past couple of weekends.
I rode in Kamloops on the weekend with a couple of locals I met at the trail head. Lots of fun with a few "Oh ####" moments thrown in there.

Haven't followed this thread since last season. Went back a few pages but didn't see any references.
Is the Zoo path still closed for construction? Or is it open now?

When I first rode that path after the City opened it, I was disappointed that they didn't repair that path. They had all of the time in the world to do that but I suppose the City will close it again late this summer to repair it. Or they will wait until someone gets thrown off the bike after hitting that bump on the downhill under the bridge.

I don't ride that way anymore, my work has moved to the NE, but the pathway here is just as bad.

I've also noticed a few jerk geese setting up on the pathway near the west end of the zoo. Total jerks hissing away already, and there is little room to maneuver there...

When do we want to have the first CP ride? Keep it reasonable for the first one so more people can ride. 60km or so. We can build up to a 100 by August. I'd be game for 1 a month till the fall. No drop rides. Average 25km/h or so.

Last night I put the pedals on my thunderbolt and this morning I rode the south single track to heritage pointe (this is a nice 27 k ride from my house in new Brighton) and the trail conditions were great.
Really liked the setup of my thunderbolt as over the winter I swapped out the stock flat bar for a bar with 10mm rise.

I honk at geese when I bike past. I wonder if they're ever confused that I'm one of them

Does anybody else feel the pathway speeds of 20 km/he are far too slow or is it just me?

How many people even obey the pathway speeds? Just today I am pretty sure a couple of people whizzing down the hills around Confluence Park were going a lot faster than 20. Still, 20 seems a bit sluggish. 25 is a good cruising speed, but maybe not appropriate for the shared pathways.

When they are busy 20km is pretty reasonable. The non twinned downtown stuff possibly too fast. But I agree with you that generally they are too slow.
No one follows it anyway and the only time I saw anyone getting a ticket was a guy burning through a princes Island area. So as long as the limit is selectively enforced it's fine.

20 is the right speed, the congested areas like downtown are somewhat self regulating, and the only place I have ever seen real enforcement is downtown. I have seen them a couple of times near sandy beach, by that downhill.
To me the frustrating thing used to be how just outside of downtown, I would be speeding and come around a tight corner where I was on my side of the yellow line and I would inevitably meet a group of 4 who were riding abreast because I guess they rented the pathway.
