yes and yes
Gulbis was on Celebrity Apprentice. I think half of Trump's staff is former Apprentice contestants.

I mean Dana White kind of fits in, doesn't he? Loudmouth, blowhard, who constantly puts his foot in his mouth and appeals to the lowest common denominator.

What these polling numbers show is there's basically 1 in 5 people's votes who are still out there to be had, as Trump and Clinton's combined numbers are barely getting past 80% in most polls. So this election probably has more undecideds in play than normal. Third party support is likely to collapse as we get closer to the election as well as while there is I'm sure some real third party support, it's primarily based out of hatred of the two candidates. I'm guessing in the end most of those people hate one of the two more than the other, so they'll come back to supporting the one they hate the least. There's also the whole it's a lot easier to say you'll vote Trump than when you actually have to do it. We've all seen voter apprehension win out in many elections (like say Alberta 2012...).
And we also will see Trump's numbers fall next week after what appears will be the most embarrassing national convention in history. Trainwreck TV at it's finest.

The point I am trying to make is that it should not even be this close at any point during this election cycle. The fact that he is within 10 points is shocking.

He'd almost certainly be within 10 points of any candidate the Dems put up, even Obama running again. You have to remember a 5 point win in popular vote usually translates to a landslide victory in the electoral college. Republicans are basically locked into between 42-45% of the vote no matter who the candidate is. Their problem is getting past the 47-48% level, and Trump has yet to show he'll be able to take them past it. Polling is always pretty close right around this time because there are months to go, so polls right now are a snapshot in time more than a predictor of the likely result.

Is it really though? It's a country divided by red and blue and most will vote for their party regardless of who the nominee is. I'd be far more interested in polls that show who leads where regarding registered independents.
It doesn't matter though and that's why the one poll that shows it's close is the one being reported. The media needs to keep attention, needs to keep viewers, needs to get those clicks. It's like Bernie all over again. I like many said it at the time that Bernie never stood a chance and he never did. But that narrative had to be sold to keep people engaged. I expect a lot of the same until Hillary wins in November.

Some other notable names on the list as well, namely Alex Smith and Marcus Luttrell. Actually many notable names on the list but outside of politicians those two also stand out.

It's not Alex Smith the QB. It's the leader of the College Republican National Committee.

So why is Chris Christie following Trump to every appearance like a lapdog, if he isn't getting the VP nod? Is he Trump's valet? Food taster?
And, I don't know about you all, but six different speakers named Trump just doesn't seem like enough of them.

Well sadly it won't but Newt as VP, but Trump picking Mike Pence will be an interesting test of his hardcore supporters. Early indications are they are all praying this is a misdirection, and that the real VP will be someone else. But they pretty much all hate Pence. Even Ann Coulter who hasn't dared speak against Trump is calling picking Pence a mistake.

"Trump would be a disaster for innovation."
That is the key message of an open letter published to Huffington Post and Medium on Thursday and endorsed by 145 tech leaders.
The letter states that presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump "stands against the open exchange of ideas, free movement of people, and productive engagement with the outside world that is critical to our economy -- and that provide the foundation for innovation and growth."

Seems right up his hardcore supporters alley in many respects.
This is a guy who says he is a Christian, conservative and a Republican in that order. He openly says his faith is what guides his decision making. He's big time anti-abortion, no gay marriage (well straight up anti-LGBT to be honest), has opposed expansion to socialized medicine at times as a congressman (but other times has expanded...his stance on this seems very inconsistent).
Now on immigration he's against the party but it also makes him against Trump and what the platform will be so that will likely have to be a concession on his part with regard to the GOP.
ANd I'm sure Trump absolutely loves that he tried to start a state-run news outlet to break information about his administration using pre-written stories....it was ridiculed by everyone. That's Trump's wet dream.
