McDavid could even work as the Bumonton Bums mascot in the summers. He fits the profile to a T.
You know, since he's already branching out from playing to coach and reffing.
He might be just what the Bums need to get off the sh#te.

Someone needs to give a Berenstain Bears book cover a Bumonton Bums makeover.

Easily solved, let the actual Elks have a contest each week, where the winner is one of their members to be a pro football QB each game as settlement.

We can save that contest for another year. The current team is almost halfway to perfection.

Why haven’t the Elks tried increasing Connor’s ice time yet?

I don’t think he’s very good. So I think he is over paid. Aside from PK and some defence he doesn’t really seem like a 2 million dollar player

What do they have left for Bouchard and the Kostin/Yamamoto replacements?

Looks like 3.5 million before any cap shenanigans take place.

I would compare him to Dube, who got a similar contract albeit a 3 year. In both situations the player is getting paid on what he can be. The part that McLeod did well at, it is a short bridge.

I must have missed it the first time with the Conner Brown signing. Guy gets 3.2M bonus for playing 10 games. That is some 4D chess Holland is playing. Chances are that gets tolled to next season, so they are sitting 5M in the hole, with the bonus and Neal. Pretty much negates any significant cap increase. Probably not ideal going into the last year of Pissy's contract.

Every year Holland makes moves that are only good for 1 year.
McLeod probably would have signed for 2 years at $900k last year. Maybe 3 for $1 mil or slightly higher.
Gives him 1 years $800k and now he costs $2.1 mil per.
Brown deal kills any chances of winning next year. They have no prospects, and the cap will be flat for them due to cap penalties.
I don't see how they are better than last year either. Brown is un upgrade, but Klostin and Bjugstad were good for them in the playoffs too.

Oilers could sign Bouchard for $4 million and run with 12 forwards/7 defence to start the year and have approx $150k left over.

Shouldn’t Bouchard be higher than $9.25?

$4M is actually fair for Bouchard but the other contracts on that team, mainly Nurse's, make it hard for him to swallow. And playing with a "no injury" roster seems not ideal.
Plus wouldn't they have to waive the player not on the roster? Which would be either Pederson or Lavoie. It won't be Lavoie because he'd be grabbed up. So they will pay a guy $775K to play in the AHL.

I thought players were lining up to take discounts for the privilege of playing with Power McPlayvid and Pissy?
