Has anyone had a pump installed for their home irrigation system in Calgary (residential)? Neither of my front lawn zones will fully deploy this year (they did last year). I only program one zone at a time. You have to pull up on one of the sprinkler heads and then they will all deploy. I've had the Landscaper over and the city says the water pressure is normal. I've asked my plumber but he has never seen one installed. Any suggestions?

2 guesses of mine:

1) One of the heads has some dirt / gunk built up that prevents it (and the rest of the heads) from easily deploying.

2) A bad connection somewhere in the line causing a leak / loss of pressure.

When it does come on does it seem to be at the same pressure as last year? A leak would reduce the pressure in the line for sure. It could also be one of the heads has come loose and you are loosing pressure into the ground around a head. Is one area overly wet? I have had heads crack under the ground.

Siding going in pretty quickly, although the front of the building will be the slower part. Also now have the soffit on one side... I'm liking how it's coming together.

Really terrible choice on the green. I wouldn’t even bother living in the thing to be honest, just sell it for a 50% haircut to be rid of it. Could probably find a buyer for you.

Considering how massively over budget the thing is, if I sold it for a 50% haircut I might have to declare bankruptcy...

Anyway weren't you team green?

I honestly might have to AirBNB / VRBO it for a couple dozen days per year to pay for the extra loan funds going into it... based on current rates in the area for similar places on oceanfront, the going rate would be probably around 750 per night.

Fully checked and no leaks. Once they get going, yes pressure seems the same. Back yard zone works fine, one section in front will work once in a while, the bigger front zone will not. Heads seem fine. Still looking into a pump.

On the other hand, if you rent it to me for a week I will search for all of your posts on CP every day and personally thank them. That's priceless, really.

Also, I painted our stucco with elastomeric years ago. I debated between blue and green. I went blue, but often yearn for what green could have been. It looks great!

Has anyone done an artificial turf install for their home? We're looking at doing that for a new house build, it's a lane house with a small backyard. Just trying to get an idea of the price and if it's something we'd be able to tackle ourselves vs hiring landscapers for

I made a deal like this once. It did not go well. For either of us. 0/5 Do not recommend and would not do again!

I assume you looked around. There is one on our block that looks terrible. Looks like they just laid out the used turf from McMahon. Newer stuff may be better.

On a similar note, has anyone used a lawn service? I would like aeration, de-thatching, oversees and maybe fertilizer, but I could do that myself. Would also like a mowing service if anyone has used any.

Thanks.

It could be as simple as a bad nozzle on one of the heads itself. One of my nozzles was cracked(?) but was visibly spewing more water than it should. It was amazing to see how that cut spray radius of the entire system by like 60%.

A $9 new Hunter MP nozzle and all was well...

If I have Creeping Bell Flower in my lawn, it's just game over unless I take a skid steer and scrape off a few inches of the whole works, correct?

So just mow it so it can't seed and keep it out of the flower beds and call it fair and square? It does stay green during dry periods better than grass...
