What the hell was Pennington doing on that last drive...they had 3:30 minutes or so, and by my count managed 7 offensive plays? Thats just god awful.
At any rate...that was a perfect example of why it is never a good idea to bet against Manning. Guy is just money.

That's how the Miami offense is, they're inexperienced at running fast plays. All their drives are 10 plays 8 minutes.
I enjoyed this game alot, I thought it was well played, very few penalties other than the Colts jumping offsides and no turnovers until the very last play.
Pretty well coached on both sides too, I thought Miami might have been a little timid when 20-20 running on 3rd down and running to protect a FG. You gotta know in this league, a 3 point lead isn't going to be enough against P. Manning.

Tony Sparano can clap his hands and jump up and down after every field goal his team makes, but horrible decisions costed the Dolphins in that 4th quarter.

Peyton just showed once again why he is the best player in the NFL! As tranny said, that guy is just money. I'm so lucky to have him on my team. I take it for granted sometimes. Man, playing against the Wildcat is hella annoying. Credit to the Dolphins for using it all night and being so good at it. Also i'll give them credit for all the 3rd down conversions they made. They barely let Peyton play at all......less then 15 minutes all game! But that's all he needs, he's just that good. Over 300 yards in 15 minutes is nuts. Huge props to Dallas Clark for a monster game and to Pierre Garcon on that play for the winning touchdown. 2 games up on the Jags and Titans is nice right now. Another big game next week vs Arizona. If Indy gets a W there, things are looking good! WOOT WOOT! GO COLTS!

I have to admit that I feel for the Dolphins. They might be a better team this year than they were last year, but they don't get the 8 easy games against the AFC and NFC West and they have to play teams like Indy and Pittsburgh in their other games. I remember one year the Chiefs racked up a 13-3 record with an easy schedule and than rebounded to be 7-9 the next year when they had to play a lot more tough games. Miami will do well to finish 8-8 with their sched this year.
There are 3 teams now who made the playoffs last year with 0-2 records right now. I don't think any of them are going to be able to overcome these starts to make it back there this year. That just leaves two other teams and we'll have the 5 new playoff teams just like the last 12 years in a row. I predict San Diego and Arizona are the other two teams who falter through the rest of the season.

Poor tackling on and dropped passes were the reason the Dolphins lost tonight. On the Clark TD as well as the Brown TD, there was no reason they should have scored.
Fasano and Ginn need to catch those TD balls.

SLOWEST 2 minute drill ever....I guess it was a 3:00 drill. Regardless, that was almost comical how slow they were moving.
I'm happy, Manning and Ginn got me the 30 points I needed to win in my fantasy pool.

Stat heard today on Cowherds show....
Since they went to the current PO format 13 years ago...
Teams that start 0-2 have made the PO 15% of the time.
Teams that start 0-3... 2 out of 78 times.

That game hurts, week 1 we deserved to lose, completly outplayed. How do you out play a team 3-1 in posession and still lose. Tough loss, and now Miami has to fly to San Diego and play a desperate team out west.
Ginn needs to make that catch in the endzone. The things that Miami was doing last year by making clutch field goals, and clutch catches isn't happening this year.
If Indy plays like that they won't do very well. Manning won't win you every game with only 15 minutes of possession.

First time watching the Miami Dolphins and their "Wildcat" gameplan.
What a fun team to watch.
I'm all for more 'trickery' in football. The usual 3 yard run, 3 yard run, etc is pretty boring when I have no emotional investment in the teams.

The Colts just find a way to win games. It's tough to watch that defense sometimes but getting watch Manning week after week makes it all worth it
The Dolphins are in trouble when they get behind in a game. The Colts had an 80 yard drive in 32 seconds...I'm pretty sure Pennington took that much time just to get to the line in the final minutes. The wildcat is fun to watch and get Sporano worked up but when it comes down to having the football down the field in a limited amount of time the Dolphins simply don't have the Quaterback to do it. Without an easy schedule this year I don't see this team doing much at all

After that first completion, Pennington got the offense in a huddle, lined them up and then took a timout.....after 35 seconds!!!

No one is as good as Manning when it comes to field management... especially in a 2 minute drill. His success rate with 2 minutes left at the end of the half or end of the game getting at least a field goal has to be north of 80%. When his career is over, he'll probably be considered top 3 of all time. Add 1 or 2 more championships and he may be the greatest ever.
