Technically he's only asking for parole, which I feel every inmate should have the right to ask for. Whether they're given it or not is another story. The fact he can have 72 hours of unescorted absences is ridiculous imo. Hopefully the fact he was denied last year is a good sign that he'll be denied again.

Jesus.
- During the hearing, Tschetter also continued to deny he was drunk when driving the cement truck at the time of the crash
- In 23 years of driving, Tschetter has 20 driving convictions in addition to these criminal charges.
- He was convicted of impaired driving in 1978 and said he quit drinking in 1989.
- He maintains the bottle of vodka in the truck the day of the crash was for his customers.
Really? A cement truck driver has a bottle of vodka in his truck . . . for his customers??

That this assclown continues to deny he was drunk at the time of the accident leads me to believe he's going to kill more people drinking and driving. Condolences and RIP in advance to the families of whoever he's going to kill.

In isolation that actually doesn't sound that crazy, a gift for a work crew or something, but add it into the rest of the stuff around this guy and I"m not buying it.

Yup. He's basically refusing to take responsibility, and I'll bet in his mind he hasn't done anythng wrong. It's impossible to rehabillitate and educate someone who thinks, with his infinite ego, he has done nothing wrong. I wouldn't be suprised to see him in the news again for another 'accident'.
I can't even imagine how the families of the victims must feel.

He's an ex-Hutterite, so I wouldn't be surprised. Anyone who has worked with/for the Hutterites knows they routinely 'pay' someone or GET paid with booze.
That being said I don't believe for a second that he wasn't intoxicated.

And he claims the alcohol smell on his breath was from him taking a drink of from the vodka bottle thinking it was water. He actually wants people to believe he didn't know the difference between racking open and drinking from a plastic bottle of water and a significantly heaver glass bottle of vodka! What a jerk!

His utter denial is similar to that other bozo Tatyana Granada, who was convicted of food tampering at the Oakridge Co-Op. Tatyana Granada also denied every part of it, despite overwhelming evidence.

Another candid example of how pathetic our justice system really is. Had this scumbag pulled up beside the vehicle and opened fire with a gun killing all 5 he would be done for at least 25 years. I just don't get how he is out on day parole less than 5 years after he wiped out an entire family going Christmas shopping, purely disgusting. How did this clown not take a licking in prison ?

A Cochrane man convicted of killing five people when he smashed his cement truck into the back of their car more than five years ago is expected to be granted full parole today at his final hearing before the National Parole Board.

Something is wrong when a POS like this guy is out of jail less than 4 years after killing 5 people.
I'll bet this POS re-offends.

I thought the whole Conservative platform of getting tough on crime was supposed to prevent crap like this? Or does that only apply to minor drug offenses?
