Watching these last few groups makes me think that the winner might come from down the leaderboard tomorrow. Dustin (depending how he finishes) or Bryson could probably go 65 and get into a playoff or maybe win outright.

Seems like fowler or clark just being under par for the weekend might be enough.

Scottie coming in eagle-birdie finish, if I could trust him to putt I would really like his chances right now.

Watching Clark putt is painful. I can't stand his process.

That club twirl by Clark on 18 felt like a big #### you to all of us who wanted that Ricky-Rory final pairing.

Ha. Scottie/Rory in the penultimate group could well produce the winner anyway though and should be a factor until the end.

Teeing off 75 minutes earlier tomorrow so darkness shouldn't be a factor. They were definitely pushing it tonight.

Well yeah they need to account for a playoff. They don’t play 18 on Monday anymore.

As far as summing up this course this week...

https://twitter.com/user/status/1670532059708682241

...USGA has booked some future sites to like 2050, and this course is booked for 2039, but I can't see them coming back without significant changes. Between how easy it has played and how horrific the crowds have been, one of the worst majors I can remember.

That putt coming back is absolutely brutal. It doesn't matter because he was so far ahead for top amateur, but what if that's consequential? And someone else probably knows, but is that a problem with how the hole was cut? It just seems like the cup isn't flush with the ground in there?

Imagine Fleetwood shoots 59 and then just sits back and watches everyone fall apart and wins. That said, you would think someone close to the top (probably Scottie or DJ) will shoot 65 or better.

I'm so sick of hearing about the stupid marine layer during the last few days. I'm certain they will mentioned it another 50 times before this round is done.

Im not quite ready to say that Fowler doesnt have the goods today- just sticking around is often good enough at the US open.

Kinda wish Scottie was closer to Rory, that would make for some compelling golf down the stretch.

Edit: RIP Scheffler. It's dark in there.

Yeah definitely looking like it's down to Wyndham and Rory. Rickie has been fighting it the last two rounds, and I think that bogey on 18 yesterday was the air out of the balloon for him.

That's a good bogey for Scheffler, but he's gonna need help to catch up.

Keep in mind the ball will be rolled back by then. Will be a very different game.

"It's not gonna get down there" Azinger says as it gets down there to about six feet. He has been brutal all tournament.

Whenever I see Rickie with his orange hat and glasses I can't help but think about how much he reminds me of Dale Gribble.
