A great shot doesn’t matter if you don’t have time and space to use it. Kadri is better at creating time and space than Lindholm imo and toffoli would benefit from it, while players like Dube and Mang are better at driving the net and provide space for Huberdeau

Definitely agree with Toffoli - that top line just hasn't looked like a line with chemistry outside of a few plays. Not sure who you move into Toffoli's spot, however. I wouldn't touch that Mangiapane - Kadri - Dube line, as they look like a legitimate #1 line right now, which is awesome. Those 3 are looking really solid together.


At this point, you just have to let it ride a bit longer and see what happens. Flames have been scoring so far, so there won't be the pressure to try and find instant chemistry.


As for Lewis, just surprised nobody took that spot. Lots of options, but nobody grabbed it. I assume Ruzicka will eventually solidify himself in the top 9.

Huberdeau and Lindholm are two elite players who are coming off career years and complete upheavals, might take a bit for things to start to gel.

I said from the beginning, Toffoli is not a top line forward. He’s not a fast skater or quick on the draw.

He’s a strong third, maybe a second if needed. But Treliving absolutely needed to fill that role. He did great with kadri and hopefully Huberdeau.

Maybe Toffoli works out and proves me wrong.
