How does Columbus afford this with Laine left to sign?

Good effort, but “real men treat their wife and kids as accessories to be fit in around their career” is still some weird incel ####.

I think Treliving would still take the call though. Maybe Gross asks him if 10.5 is still on the table. If he tries to increase it then yeah I wouldn't trust him either.

If you have the chance to lock up a guy who got 115 points for 7 years I think Laine becomes a total afterthought
Don’t think Jarmo saw any of this coming

Checked out the state taxes in New York and New Jersey vs Ohio plus Columbus municipal tax. Looks to be about 4% less in Columbus.
That and Urban Mayer will always be the media villain in that part of the world.

Philly and New Jersey did have some playoff battles when he would have been a kid.
I could never sign in Edmonton…maybe he could never sign in Jersey.
With Philly out of the picture maybe Columbus was just the next best option for him.

You can't afford not to do it at that price, really.

They must have to try and trade Voracek, Nyqvist or Bjorkstrand.

I don’t recall his client list, but this might be the first really big UFA deal he’s done?

As I recall Johnny and Nylander are his biggest clients and he has only 20 or so.

This sure is the talk of the hockey world. I have friends that are fans of other teams calling and texting to try and make sense of it all. Very strange stuff. I too find it odd that we haven't seen a thank you from Gaudreau. If we don't get one, there must be bad blood, if that's the case, does he get a jumbotron tribute upon his return?

Might be the last one he does too, If I'm an NHL player looking for an agent, and I see this as an example of his work, I'm running far far away.
I can't help but feel right now, that this was a bit of a slap in the face to the Flames by John's camp. And yeah, he's no longer Johnny to me, he's dead to me.

So, here is my thought. Without knowing there is a NTC, Gaudreau could still be traded to Philly, let's say in 2 years.

He'll get a jumbotron tribute, but my feeling is at best the fan reaction to it will be pretty muted.
Taking less money and going to place that's not "home", its a slap.

I'd love to hear from Conroy. He has loose lips sometimes. Gross was his agent too.

Just a guess, but I think he didn't want to play for Sutter or Tortorella.

Yeah, but the one in Columbus isn't built out of Lego.
