Reminds me of a nest too. I like it, for that location it is a great design.

It's one of those things that may look neat for 5 years or so, and then it's going to look trashy for the next 25.

That new U of C building on 16th Ave by Crowchild and next to McDonalds.
WHY the hell are the windows not aligned? it is like the ugliest tower in Calgary. Are they insane?

That's too bad, we've been there a few times and it was always good.

New plan for the old brewery in Inglewood
https://www.breweryraillands.com/
We'll see if anything comes of this plan, though it does look nice.

Large gatherings are dead! Dead I say!

I take it you're not familiar with the people of Inglewood?
It's an uproar every time there is an event at Fort Calgary or over at Max Bell.
But yeah, that would be a nice use for it, it has that nice front lawn already.

No one wants it in their backyard unfortunately. The folks in Eau Claire bitch about festivals at Prince's Island and residents of University Height complain about concerts at McMahon.
If they put up a bunch of condos on that land I wonder how long before the residents start complaining about noise from CP?

Traffic would be problematic for large events in that area, especially with the speed that the trains go through that turn. Blackfoot would get hugely backed up.
As it stands with that plan, I think the 18th Ave and 15th St intersection would be a problem even without a large event.

Traffic would definitely be a concern. That area is a disaster for traffic and I don't think anything can be done to improve things. Maybe the Green Line will help to some degree though.
