I saw a Blue Ferrari Roma today over by the dealership. It looks amazing in person, although I did ask myself, "What kind of Aston Martin is that?" before I got closer and realized what it was.
Also, I was in line at Peters behind an Orange i8. I think it's a great looking car but the performance is just ok. It's too bad BMW doesn't make a proper attention-getting supercar like the M1. I'd like to see something with M8 speed and i8 style.

I'd buy one if I was interested in one. I've heard only good things about their reliability and quality as of late.

The Ferrari Roma design is what the new Aston Martin DB11 and/or Vantage should have been, IMO. It really does look like the natural evolution of the Gaydon VH platform cars.

On one hand, I get the comments about the Roma's resemblance to an Aston.
But on the other hand, there are so many conflicting safety and crash regulations that need to be accounted for, that the parameters for a "GT coupe" are quite restrictive which is reflected in the similarity of the designs.
I suppose it's a testament to Aston that they're what everyone seems to use as the generic reference for "great looking, high end GT car".
That all said, I freakin' love the Roma

Don't bother I'll have died doing what I loved.
I still can't get over the ear-ear grin the R produces. It's the only thing I've driven that eases the regret of selling the 996. I'd love to take it out for a track day somewhere. IMO one of the best bang-for-your buck cars on the current market.

I mean, hey, if someone wants one and isn't worried about resale with a previous accident on the history, this is a pretty decent deal.

Hyundai has finished ahead of Toyota and Honda in JD Power’s initial quality survey each of the last seven years.
They’re the only manufacturer that produces its own steel, and over 50% of the metal in the Elantra/Sonata is Hyundai’s made-to-spec advanced high strength steel.
I once had a 2001 Sonata that belonged to my grandmother before she developed Alzheimer’s- in 2014, having not been serviced on over two years, with no functioning fuel gauge, a gauge cluster with no backlight, and a passenger window that would only roll 90% up, it was still getting 630km to a tank.
If you look around this town, you will see a veritable army of 10-15 year old Hyundais.
They hold up.
Disclaimer, I work for Hyundai.

As a previous owner of a 1987 Hyundai Excell that had the gear shifter snap off during a trip to brooks,, I can say don't buy one.
I'm confident that the quality has improved since then but I just can't get past it.

I think it'll be 5+ years before we can officially say they are at Toyota levels of reliability, but certainly I have been impressed with the build quality of their vehicles the last few years. They absolutely blow away the embarrassing domestic offerings and offer more value than the Japanese brands.

We have owned two Hyundai and never ever had any issues. In fact, i can't remember doing anything to either other than normal maintenance and we put over 150,000km on each of the (a Van and Santa Fe).
People that discount Hyundai as a good/reliable brand are making poor decisions, IMO.

My brother has a Hyundai Sante Fe but has a lot of issues with it. He just got back from their service center because he had a wiper fluid leak. Hyundai wanted $400 to change out the "Cracked" reservoir. He took it to Canadian Tire and they changed his leaking hose for free while they did his tires.

Pretty standard for almost any dealership. Unfortunate, but it's reality.

Is this a good thing? I agree that Hyundai/Kai are a great value these days, but they've always felt a bit tinny to me.
Kind of like how Ford and their "military-grade" claims aren't necessarily a good thing.

Trust me "military-grade" isn't a good thing.

That $20k claim is where they replaced the motor and turbos. That must have been one hell of an oopsie.

My partner's car is a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring and that's one of my biggest annoyances with it, is it feels a bit tinny and the road noise is considerable. We replaced the tires this year and I went with a set that is known to be quiet and still the road noise is high. That being said, the only issue we've had with it thus far (knock on wood) is the ODO had to be replaced twice due to the display dimming. A known issue and covered by warranty both times.
I drive it more these days since I asked for a parking spot at work, and I admit I really want to get rid of it. Not because of any major issues, I just want something a little nicer. But no car payment and little maintenance expense is king, so we'll probably drive it until something PHEV/EV comes out that we like.

No moonroof on the Mk VII Golf Rs baffles me. I'm also still not sold on Haldex, although they are getting better and better, it's hard to shake the transverse engine FWD feeling. Sounds like the Mk VIII may have made more headway on this front.
I don't mean to sound like a critic, as I think they are awesome cars and actually nearly bought one, but those factors were what kept me away.

To repair the amount of damage to the body of the car, that would result from a collision that also required the engine to be replaced, all for $20k sounds really strange as a "single vehicle collision"
Not to mention that he's offering like a 5% discount for the accident history... Hard pass.
