The Steelers players are likely frustrated because they know he's a key piece to them winning. But he may not be as motivated to win as he is to get paid. But that's on the Steelers for getting to this position. They know damn well that they'll move on from him after this year after they ride him hard an put him away wet. So I don't blame Bell for being a guy who says okay...I can play the game too. I actually hope more running backs look at this approach. Unlike other positions, it's a short shelf life for these guys so two years at a Franchise tag takes up a good chunk of their career and can limit their next deal more than say a QB.
Well both are bad options since he was offer over 40 million guaranteed last off-season. He is betting he can get 50-55 guaranteed plus roster bonuses etc plus the 8 mil he gets this year for 6 games for 55-60 million vs 45 Steelers we’re offering

The Steelers offer, in terms of pure guaranteed money, was essentially a 1 year, $10 million offer. Yes you can argue he could have gotten the other "guaranteed" money simply by playing to his level, but again why should he accept less than the most guaranteed money he can possibly get? Once Gurley got $45 million totally guaranteed, why would Bell, a clearly superior player, accept less? Yes Bell has more issues, but that's mitigated by being better (it's still the NFL after all). At worst he shouldn't accept less. It's definitely a risk for him, but you can easily see teams like the Bucs and Browns lining up to give him a huge deal. When healthy he's obviously an elite player.

I think he'll get what he's looking for in the offseason if he limits his touches and doesn't get hurt. He's 26, which means he probably has 4 good years left. The four teams with the most cap space this coming offseason are the Jets, Bills, Colts, and Texans, all of whom have questions at RB after this year. Even disregarding those teams, there are other RB needy teams with cap space who would probably take that chance on him if they believe he's the missing piece to making a Super Bowl run.

Atlanta just missing something... seems to he a team just spinning their wheels. A playoff team most likely, but tire spinners nonetheless.

Just can't see them hanging in there withthe likes of the NFCs best

The surest sign the NFL is back is coaches making hideous challenges, like that Peterson one.

Or terrible calls on good defensive plays to get numbers on the scoreboard.

Trufant played that beautifully

Has any coach ever challenged a 3 yard gain on 1st down before? Not exactly sure what he was thinking there as it's not like Atlanta has a red zone offense anyway.

In a bit of shocking news you’ll be gobsmacked to learn that Nick Foles, in fact, sucks. He has always sucked and he will always suck.

Nice of him to have that sweet Flacco postseason run though. Now please launch him into the Grand Canyon.

I laughed at people in the offseason discussing teams trading 1st or 2nd round picks for Foles to become their starter. Amazing run for sure but he's just not that good and I give Pedersen a lot of credit for changing up his offense late in the season to catch teams off guard. Nobody can ever take that Cinderella run from Foles but he's going to be up there in the discussions for worst QB to ever win a Super Bowl.

Yeah. That's without a doubt a catch. I can't understand how a league this big can't get that right. It's really not that hard. If it looks like a catch, it's a catch.
