Donated $100 on the Red Cross webpage.
For those who asked why the federal gov't is matching Red Cross donations, it's an easy way to quickly help, just like if you or I donate, plus it encourages people to give knowing that their money is multiplied. It's not like it stops them from doing whatever else they can and are asked to do.

EDIT: Incorrect.
Also I upped my donation with Red Cross.
I wish I could do more.

It was meant as a light jab. I kinda cringed when I saw the picture, and username in this thread.
One of those inappropriately funny moments I guess.

I just gave AARCS $200 to help with their influx of pets from Fort McMurray, as well. Keep donating to The Red Cross, but if you have more to spare, keep them in mind!
Confirmed running total from CP'ers to the Red Cross
$3060 (That's not including the unmentioned amounts donated by users here, either.)
Great stuff guys! Keep it up!

Donated $200 to Red Cross. I'll probably donate more later too. Also awesome, AARCS put out an urgent call for animal carriers for pets that are coming down from Fort Mac about an hour ago, and they just posted this photo:

Unbelievable images from Fort Mac. Born and raised in Alberta and seeing Albertans open their homes and wallets makes me proud to be from here. Donated $100 to the Red Cross today. Work will match and Gov’t will match, $100 becomes $400!!

Well I just put in $500.
Watching those videos is unreal. Fire raining from the sky across the hood of the truck? Thats nuts. That guy on the motorbike is out of his mind, I'll give him kudos for driving orderly though, he could hightail it like a maniac which I think he does in the end but I dont blame him. I'd be telling him to use my truck as cover.
Watching that on Youtube is eyeopening. I remember driving around Calgary during the flood and that was scary but this is a whole other level.

I didn't get confirmation either. I wonder how many people donations aren't getting through?

Donated $100. Unfortunately not a good year for me as hours have been cut to 3 days a week. My wife makes the big bucks, so I'll get her to put some in.

Haha! Fair enough! I just finished Tax Season so I had some cash and figured I may as well send it off to a good cause and maybe help some people out.
Theres some people around here that arent in a position to give much but I can so I will.

jschick88, an update to that map as that's from yesterday morning/afternoon. The prospect point area, that little bulge directly under the Fort in the header and to the left of the circled "63" took significant damage last night. It was stopped from crossing Confederation Way though, that road just south of it.
Not crossing confed is key. A large swath of forrest called the Birchwood Trails is right in the middle of that yellow patch. If he gets to homes there and hits that forrest it'll have easy access to all kinds of homes in Thickwood, Timberlea, Dickensfield.
