If you concentrate on any player long enough, you will see mistakes in their game. When Wideman gets in a groove, he's average on D, with one or two problem mistakes a night, and a plus on offense. Exactly as he has always been. There has always been a bit of a pack mentality around this teams fans to target a player, going back to Vernon. Last year it was Butler, this year it's Wideman. Doesn't mean that it's warranted. Taking all things into consideration, Wideman is worth more to the team than any available replacement.
Exactly... Wideman has his flaws... but the alternative is guys like Diaz, Butler or Potter. He's overpaid sure... but he's better than whatever else you'd find out there.
