Shouldn't be a problem, there's a Tapatalk plugin for Xenforo

A couple of sketch designs from Gary via email:
Quote:
Calgarypuck is my favourite forum and got some idea about the logo design, want to post some sketch and let other guys good at arts finish, but not a member yet, and can't register right now, so email these sketches, take a look if somebody really could receive this email.
Logo got be simple and fit, didn't see something good and simple yet in the thread. This is the C and P, a puck and a stick. May add more colors such as yellow in addition to red and black to match Flames. Of cause these text could be rearranged to fit the forum.
Cheers,
Gary

I think there should be a guideline for everyone to follow with regards to dimensions and possibly background colour set by photon and Bingo. There's no point in voting on an image that only looks good at 400x400px on a yellow background if it will only ever be used at 100x100px on a red background.
The banner ad at the top of the page is 728px wide. With the current logo and the banner ads, plus the padding around them, I have to have my Chrome window (on Windows 7) at a minimum of 1042px to not get a horizontal scroll bar. That's with the current logo that is 239px wide. If the new logo were 500px wide, then the new minimum width becomes over 1300px. Even though my monitor is over 1900px wide, I rarely keep my browser window over 1250px because I find that lines of text become hard to read when the window is wider than that.
There are things that can be done with the CSS to make the site responsive to different page dimensions, but I don't know how customized the forum software allows you to be.
One thing you don't want to do is have a design that makes the site difficult to read for people with older browsers or smaller monitors (they're likely to be the least tech-savvy visitors and will just leave the forums rather than try to find a fix).
Like I said, those decisions should be made by photon and Bingo. How wide is too wide for the logo? Whatever they decide, everyone should submit their design within those parameters.
For example, you could do something like this: Post your final submission with your design over three background colours (red, white, black), contained within a rectangle 250x150px, and all submissions would look similar to this...

XenForo was created by some vBulletin developers that left vBulletin after it was bought by a company and the lead developers disagreed with the new owners about what to do with vBulletin 4. The devs wanted to do a complete rewrite, the new owners want to use agile programming to improve the existing code base. Most of the developers quit and moved on to make XenForo.
The new vBulletin owners then tried to sue the pants off everyone the day before XenForo was supposed to have it's first public beta. Eventually they settled.

I can't thank this enough. I actually laughed so loud that someone else in the office had to come see this. I would honestly vote for this.

I wanted to use the new logo on new forum software, but there's been some delays in getting that up. I was asking Bingo if I should put the new logo up here for now until we get that done.

Another forum I go to recently migrated to Xenforo. There was some rough patches and it felt like "mobile-mode" was too heavily emphasized and hurt the phone experience, but there are some serious positive. Instead of just a thank you button, there 's a like, dislike, agree, disagree, useful, informative etc button, and the overall experience feels more 21st century.
Please just disable "Mobile Mode". If people want the app version of a forum, they will use tapatalk, not Firefox or Chrome or Safari.
