It seems every time atptour.com or some related publication does a big story on how Nishikori is set to solidify his place in the top ten, he gets upset in the first round.

Interesting morning on the women's side as Li Na joins Wawrinka with a loss. Alek Wozniak with a match point, but looses in three sets.

Edit: I forgot to add, Fichman put up a valiant fight versus Jankovic to push it to three sets, but ultimately lost.

Maybe Li Na and Wawrinka figured since they already got majors this year, might as well kick it in Paris for two weeks. Li looked totally disinterested in that closing set.

Genie shakes off losing the first set 2-6 and comes back to win the next two 6-2, 6-1. Even better, looks like Pannetta is on the ropes, opening up a path to the 4th round.

Milos won the 3rd set rather quickly. Moves on after a 7-6, 6-4, 6-1 win. Good day so far!

I can't recall Milos ever serving so poorly in the first two sets. With that said, this could be one of the first times the rest of his game picked him up entirely.

Very encouraging to see it all come together in set 3 - he's going to need his whole game to beat Simon the way he's rolling.
