Manning can get rid of the ball quickly enough, getting killed won't be the problem. He may not be able to carve teams up for 45 points a game like he is right now. But he's always been good at not taking too many hits.

You can change the clowns in charge but the circus in Cleveland seems to be perpetual.

On Sportscenter this was just said: "The Browns are looking to find pieces to build around and make the offense more explosive in the coming years"... Richardson had been their best skill offensive player in years, and it's not even all that close when you think about it. Who doesn't love laughing at Cleveland? I sure do.

The first hand shown in the Teddy Bridgewater sweepstakes. Tank the season and if you don't get the 1st pick ensure you accumulate more 1st round picks in hopes of trading up. Doubt they will be able to out-suck the Jags who would also be looking for a franchise QB.

Don't worry Browns fans, only like 60 years until you'll be competiting for a playoff spot. What a terrible, terrible organization, I feel bad for the fans really. The absolute worst and funniest part is they traded up to get Richardson in the first place. What a catastrophe.

Richardson must have banged somebody's wife or something. I don't believe for a minute that they would make that trade unless there was a reason they needed to get Richardson out of the locker room.

ANNNNNNNNNND the Colts have a running game! Love the trade!!!!!!!!!!!!
Richardson and Bradshaw are now the RB's. Colts needed to improve the running game especially with Ballard out. Gives Luck another weapon to go with Wayne, Hilton, Fleener, Heyward-Bey.

I wonder if this move isn't as crazy as it seems. Richardson has already had his share of nicks and bruises. His career YPC is around 3.5. If he was to have 350 touches this year for 1500 total yards, what would his trde value be? Could you trade a player like that for a second round pick? Most backs have about 6 good years, and two of Richardson's will be done after this one.
I think it is a good move for the Colts, but maybe it's not as bad for the Browns as it seems. Where it looks bad is that the previous regime moved past Minnesota to pick Richardson 3rd, when everyone knew the Vikings would draft Kalil, and after they lost out on trading for RG3.

Yeah lots of people looking at the 3rd overall pick status and forgot to look at the fact that he has been very disappointing over his first 18 games of his career. Just not explosive enough so far in his young career.
No guarantee that the Colts make the playoffs so that could easily be a top 15-20 pick.

This Browns fan has not been impressed with Richardson. Seems to me, like EE suggested, the Browns are accumulating picks to make a run at a QB in the next draft.
The defence is good. They need a franchise QB.

Why do they need to accumulate picks? Either they or Jacksonville are picking #1, and if its the Jaguars, the Browns will have to give up three 1st round picks to move up one spot. As we've seen with RGIII, thats a very risk proposition. Besides while Teddy Bridgewater looks to be a lock at #1 right now, Tajh Boyd and Brett Hundley also look to be really good prospects. If the Browns get any of the 3, they'll be good, so trading more picks just to get Bridgewater seems excessive.
Of course this is the Browns, so odds are they'll take Braxton Miller as their franchise QB.

I think CLE could finish in the bottom five, but I'm not certain they will be last or second last. They were scouting Johnny Football at the Alabama game. I think they want to be sure they get either Teddy or Johnny.
Cleveland Browns' trade of Trent Richardson rattles fans, but analysts see method to the madness
http://www.cleveland.com/browns/inde...of_tren_1.html
Are the Browns giving up on Trent Richardson too soon?
Yes. He was team’s first choice in 2012 draft for a reason. 63.35%
The news Wednesday night stunned and confused some Browns fans.
This might be hard for fans to believe, but it seems most analysts believe the Browns have made a good decision in shipping Richardson to the Colts. That includes Plain Dealer columnist Terry Pluto, who says it's clear it's going to be a long season for the Browns, but it could pay off down the road: Here's the bottom line: If I'm sitting in the chair of CEO Joe Banner, I make the trade. I make the trade knowing fans will hate it. I make the trade knowing the coaching staff has been assigned to a job harder than swimming from Key West to Cuba with 50-pound weights on each leg. I make the trade because I know that Richardson is not a big-time running back. Two knee surgeries and the broken ribs were the first indication that he couldn't stay healthy. ... The fans do have serious doubts about this front office -- and I share some of them. But I also know the Browns are going nowhere until they find at least an above-average quarterback. And that quarterback probably is not on the team now. He just may be in the draft. What's being said outside the city? Well, there is plenty of praise for the Browns' move. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports NFL Insider says the deal was a "no-brainer" for Cleveland: The Browns now have two first-round picks, two third-round picks and two fourth-round picks, plus all their normal picks in every other round. If they don't get the first overall pick (i.e. Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater), they are in place to wheel and deal to secure the first overall pick if need be (not sure Jacksonville would be willing to deal it), or move up or down to get the quarterback they desire. They also can add more skill players with these picks -- and I agree that a very good starting RB will be available in rounds 2-4 -- and add a stud receiver with the Colts' first-round pick, and be able to retool quickly.

I think if anything they'll take Jadaveon with their first pick and Manziel with the other one. Manziel is a wildcard, he could go anywhere in the draft. You know many teams won't even have him on their draft board, while others might become enamored with him.

This is exactly my thought. The second pick in the first round will let them take a shot at Manziel. Taking him top 5 wouldn't be great, but if you can get him at 15-20 that would be alright.
Jacksonville: Bridgewater
Cleveland: Clowney

Even if Richardson isnt everything they thought he may be, this guy thinks that the Cleveland Browns can draft in 4 rds in ONE draft next April......
1) a franchise QB
AND
2) a franchise RB (much like the one they just drafted then dealt)
AND
3) a "stud" receiver
Seriously?
Has he looked at the Browns drafting record?
Those 3 things are hard to come by for every team in the league....getting ONE per draft would be a success.
Yikes...talk about selling false hope. It's almost absurd to even suggest such a thing and he doesnt even address the O-line that hasn't blocked for Richardson and now has seen its QB go down with injury after 11 sacks against in 2 games.
Horrible trade and an even worse spin on it.

Huh? First, nobody said anything about a franchise running back, and I'd argue that doesn't even exist in the NFL anymore. RB is the most replaceable position on the field. The Browns could quite easily draft a franchise QB with their first pick (assuming top 5), an elite player at any position with a mid to late 1st, and a starting RB in the 2nd-4th. That's a pretty reasonable draft. I'm also not sure why you're talking about the Browns drafting record when they have a new regime in place.
