Does this mean his PTO will become an AHL deal? I know it won't by default or anything, but I'm not sure how you can name a guy captain and then not extend him an AHL contract.
Honestly even though I am sure he is a great leader, I am a bit disappointed. I don't feel Arnese has been all that good for the Heat and was hoping he would be released from him PTO when bodies return (at both levels) because including Billins the Heat could add 3 more defensemen as the Flames and Heat get healthier.
edit: in case he doesn't agree I think thymebalm thanked me before I said I didn't like Arsene lol
No, I thank you for your whole contribution, even if I might not agree. Sounds like he's been a captain on 5 AHL teams. Seems like he's got that intangible something that players like. I think I said I wanted Bancks to be captain, but really, they need experience in their leader and sounds like he's been around the block a few times.
Granlund and Street each with 2 points already. Granlund having a pretty good start to his AHL career. Has 4 goals 3 assists in 11 games. It might be 5 goals and 4 assists in 12 games including tonights game. Not sure how fast the AHL mobile app updates individual stats.
Yea that was Ferland's first AHL career goal.
3-2 now as the Marlies get within one, 35 seconds into the second.

The only thing that will prevent Granlund from becoming a quality top 6 forward is his foot speed. He's not very slow, but definitely slower than average and that can limit him quite a bit.

Almost forgot about Granlund's shot. Clearly NHL caliber already, just has to round out the rest of his game.
Thanks for the link. I remember being really impressed by Granlund's shot at both the WJC and the pre-season camp. Nice play on the game winner by Ferland - tipping the puck past the defender on that pass and rifling that shot.
