Lacking class. But this should be to no one's surprise. With football, idiots abound.
Actually ................... No. As wrong as wrong can be.

With football, like life in general, the idiots fortunately are in the minority. It's just people like you that choose to focus on the idiots. You're definitely a strange one. Move to England and decide to focus all your energy on cheering against a team as opposed to cheering for one.

Terrible display, lucky result. Definite penalty and easy red card. The half time analysis summed it up pretty well. Shelvey basically lost his head in the occasion. The ref tried to calm him down just before the sending off for a reckless challenge but he just fobbed him off.

And what the hell is this supposed to mean?
"I'm sorry. I have also apologised to Sir Alex Ferguson. Where I come from people don't grass people up to get someone sent off."

Final random thought. Ian Rush has not aged well. He looks about 70.

Poor John Terry. I might ask Wayne Bridge what he thinks about his decision to retire from England duties.

Rory Smith ‏@RorySmithTimes Farewell, JT, embodiment of the Three Lions badge. If you assume he's the top lion, on top of the middle lion, who's the bottom lion's wife.

whatever you think of him (all of them bad on my end)

He was one of the few who always gave his all for England, could never question his effort and desire to win like some of the other 'stars' on the team

it's not a bad time for him to go though, the one position England has done a great job producing in youth is CB

Jones/Caulker/Smalling all look like they are going to be great

Again though in his statement, he makes the blame seem like someone else's fault

the FA have gone out of their way to placate him the last 6 months, now he throws them under the bus...

Thats got nothing to do with it.
Fergie grassed him out. It`s as simple as that. Shelvey is the victim.

So did Evans, Diane.

Either both go or neither go.

Bad tackles by both

This is exactly the point. What we saw was one set of teams having the rules strictly applied to them on key decisions while the other team did not.

It was the same with the decision over the 'pelanties'.

Both pivotal decisions that decided the outcome of the match.

As is so often the case in the EPL, it is not good enough to be better than Manchester United to win - you need to be significantly better, and even then your chances are 50/50.

I think that this is a great example of what I term "the Flair phenomenon."

Mark Halsey complains to police after Twitter abuse

Referee Mark Halsey has made a complaint to Greater Manchester Police about insulting tweets directed at him.

Tweets sent after Manchester United's 2-1 win at Liverpool on Sunday referred to the 51-year-old's treatment for throat cancer in 2009.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19703504

Also:

Meanwhile, the Football Association is not expected to take any action over reports of offensive chanting by a minority of fans after the end of Sunday's game.

It noted that both clubs had been active in trying to stop offensive chants

Ya, I had to laugh when I heard that one. I guess the advice didn't sink in.

I fear he goes the Nev's route. He was never the same after he came back from his knee injury. I haven't heard any recent news into Jones or Smalling. We're in serious trouble. After getting bossed by LFC for the better parts of 2/3 of Sundays game, its obvious that what was once a position of riches, is now a position of weakness.

Buttner CB?

United will be fine for at least a week

Fergie could throw out a u12 team and if they were from Manchester, playing at home, and wearing red, against Spurs it will always end in 3 points

Jones is at least four weeks away, but Smalling could be back within 2 weeks ... that's what I read anyway. Relying on the health of Ferdinand is really bad. I guess Evans and a young guy like Wootton or Keane will play tomorrow, then have Ferdinand and Evans against Tottenham.

Büttner is just 1,74m ... that's not the height of your typical Premier League CB. Probably not a good idea ^^ maybe Fletcher can contribute a bit, I liked him better than Carrick as CB when they helped out there back then. Otherwise it's Carrick or a young guy again ...

Smalling was a projected 10 weeks on the 21st July which expires at the end of this week. However he hasn't even been back to training yet.

Jones is probably about 6 weeks away. Meniscus too.

Fletcher could be key in all this freeing Carrick to play a couple of games there. That or new blood
