Tyler Wotherspoon was scoreless in a 2-0 win over Seattle.
Patrick Holland had 1 goal and 2 assists in a 4-1 win over Spokane. Holland now has 10 points in his last 4 games, 19 in his last 10. He has 46 points in 36 games ... big improvement to last year, and really encouraging given the fact that he is playing against the top lines every game. I'm pretty sure that Holland will be the next prospect to get an ELC.

The RFA class is as follows: F Blake Comeau, F Mikael Backlund, F Paul Byron, F Logan MacMillan, F Ryley Grantham, F Stefan Meyer, D John Negrin, D Brendan Mikkelson, D Jordan Henry and G Leland Irving
[I think it's safe to assume that MacMillan, Grantham, Meyer and Negrin won't be back.]

4 of 5 Flames WHL prospects are now scoring in the top 20....
Reinhart @16 with 47 points.
Ferland @14 with 49 points.
Holland @12 with 51 points! (he has really surged lately)
Sven @9 with 54 points.
The top 2 are 69 and 65 points.
It sounds like Sven Bear-Chi will be back soon, and if he is I think he's got a shot at the WHL scoring lead at his current 2+ppg pace.
As bad as the Flames history is with drafting forwards, I am excited about these guys.
I really hope Ferland can make the bigs as I feel we have alot of small/un-physical forwards in the ranks.
Turner Elson ...you disappoint me. (I kid)

Last two years of drafting may turn out to be really good in hindsight.
Leach and Wotherspoon are also pretty good in the WHL.

I think Elson could develop into a solid role player a la Shawn Thornton.

as bad as Sutter's draft record is: this 2010 draft is looking fantastic so far! Especially when you consider that we didn't have a pick in the first two rounds. Really impressed with that forward group (Bill Arnold should be mentioned as well), I hope it translates to pro hockey.

Bill Arnold was named one of Team USA's top 3 players for the WJHC tournament chosen by their coaches I believe. They did finish 7th though so take it with a grain of salt.

I was pleasantly surprised with Elson in training camp, though he showed some good jump. Very deserving of the contract he received.

how many of these guys (let's include leach/wotherspoon) are eligible to jump to the AHL next season?
I think the jump to the pros, even if it's the ahl, is the best indication of whether these kids can translate their game/style (offensive/defensive/physical) when they hit the big league.

all of them except Wotherspoon (he'll have on year in juniors left). The 2010 draftees Holland, Reinhart, Ferland and Leach will all have completed their junior careers, while Baertschi and Elson will be AHL eligible because they'll turn 20 before December 31.
It will be interesting to see the Heat next year. A Ferland-Reinhart-Holland line could be an interesting mixture of offensive skills and smart defensive play.
