There is a very legitimate chance we see 3 Canadian men in the third round of a 1000 level event with the match-ups Denis and Polansky have in round 2.....I bet that hasn't happened before.

I think Polansky is in tough. Tired after 3 tough matches already and we all know what Mannarino is like and Polansky doesn't have the weapons to trouble him.

Yeah, I agree with Girly, Mannarino can be extremely frustrating to play against and I wonder if Peter will go for too much or try to hit lines and get flustered as the unforced errors continue to climb. I think he'll have to try to get to net as much as possible and keep the points short if he can.

Should definitely be a really interesting matchup, though I'm still disappointed the draw put all 3 of those Canadians in the same early bracket like that... Pospisil is coming in hot, Auger is one of those young guys with the crazy skillsets who could get his confidence going at a big tourney and shock everyone by going a few rounds and Milos on paper should have had a winnable 2nd round regardless of who it's against.
I think there was a reasonable chance of 4 Canadians making the 3rd round if the draw hadn't been so brutal and we could be watching these matchups later in the tourney for way more points, instead there will probably only be two of them left for next week.
Ah well, hopefully Rogers Cup draw is kinder.

I'll go ahead and call it right now...the new Djokovic is 17 years old, and he's proudly Canadian.

My word, an impressive set of tennis from Felix as he takes the opening set 6-2. Vasek needs to step it up a couple of notches.

Wow that's incredibly high praise , I have yet to see this kid play I'm super excited to see one of his matches. Who knows maybe he will be a Laver Cup invite this year.

Pops playing much better in this second set and we are on serve with Vasek leading 3-2. Once Felix cleans up some of the loose forehands, he's gonna be incredibly tough to beat.

Also, as this is a tennis thread on a Canadian hockey forum, I'm exercising my right to unrestricted homerism. I therefore reserve the right to call Shapo the new Federer at any point as well.

Haha fair enough. We just need a Nadal and Canada has their own big three.
