Why don’t we have the equivalent of TSA pre check?
I’m a trusted traveler, why do I have to go thru the same lines as the unwashed masses and take my shoes off and everything?

Probably cost. The airport's and/or CATSA don't want to spend the extra money to set up seperate screening for us trusted travelers/Nexus.

We technically have the NEXUS / Crew lines, but it's the same stupid nonsense as the non-NEXUS line.

For a brief time in my life before my tech career got properly launched, I was in car sales, and I credit that stint -- albeit short -- with properly helping me come out of my shell in my late teens.
Now, there are some great salespeople, and there are some real d-bag salespeople. The pressure-cooker types, the ones who will bullsh-t for a sale, steal customers from other salespeople, etc., I hated working with those ones. I actually got a guy fired -- completely by accident -- when a customer in the showroom pointed at a newspaper ad that the managed had posted and asked "Excuse me, is this truck [the ad] the same as [points to the vehicle outside the doors] that truck?" "Yes ma'am, we only have one of those, it's a very nice vehicle." It turns out that someone didn't check his price list and the sales guy she was working with decided to mark up the truck to the tune of about $5,000. He got in a massive shouting match with the sales manager and was canned, and the customer asked to work with me instead. I ended up with repeat business just for being honest, and she let me drive her Porsche Boxster (as a 19 year old, this was a big deal) when she came with her husband to pick up their truck.
Like salespeople, there are great customers... and some absolute d-bag customers too. Bit of a chicken and egg problem -- which came first, the greasy high-pressure salesperson or the timewasting arsehole customer?
Having been in the industry, I do tend to have a little more patience / sympathy for car salespeople since you never know behind the scenes what sort of pressure the salesperson is under from their managers. It can be pretty rough.

That sounds elitist and un-Canadian. Everyone should suffer in the same line, we don’t want two tiered American style airport security.

You can actually reserve a screening time now at Pearson for domestic or international flights.

When this happens, use your gas gap if your car has one. Most slide in perfectly.

Is that still a thing? I remember so many being taken out in the late 2000's. I haven't encountered any in the last few years, however.

Can't get de-iced yet because the bridge is broken and can't be moved back from plane. Just another westjet delay. Today is the 13th, right?

WRGMG is able-bodied people who use the elevator (especially going down) for 1-2 floors. By the time it takes to push the button, wait for the elevator, get on, press the button, wait, get off... you could have arrived way sooner at your destination and got a minor amount of exercise in the process. Taking the elevator 1-2 floors is first-world lazy.

They've definitely come back, seems rare in Calgary to not have them.

You know what sucks is looking for the stairwell, then walking up/down to your floor, and finding the door locked.

We just moved offices and the stairwells are locked which is beyond annoying. Had to take the elevator for a floor.
Luckily they opened the interior staircase this weekend.

Let's see how stable and fun the new Parks Canada reservation system is today. I was in the queue for the system launch this morning and there are 12000 people ahead of me with a 51 minute wait time. The system seems to be putting people ahead of me sometimes as my number in line jumps up and down.
Edit: managed to get three nights in Tofino but I can't check out because the system won't send out the account email confirmations so I'm stuck waiting for an email. If I lose this reservation I'll be pissed

You generally don't go anywhere in a stairwell other than the ground floor in a fire situation

This would be on the airport authority, not the airline.

That happened to me once. First day on a new job, my office is one floor from my boss. Get a call to come pick up some paperwork. Figure I'll walk down. Go to stairwell, walk down flight of stairs. Door back to interior is locked. My phone is sitting on my desk.
End up walking to the ground floor to exit. Was 30+ storeys.
Took elevator back up, boss asked why I was late and sweating.
