Same thing happened with Mania this week.

All the "Platnium" seats in the 100 and 200 levels became just "General Admission" seats and the prices dropped substantially ($200 USD in some cases)

Still expensive but if I was willing to pay $850 to see UFC 129 in Toronto I was willing to pay that to go see a Royal Rumble. It's not like I plan on going to more than one unless it happened to be in a city I was living in where I didn't have to worry about flight and hotel.
It's also just the presale. They will probably release a bunch of additional seats for the actual on sale date on Friday morning.

I remember for the Raw in Edmonton back in 2022 I found nosebleed seats for $25. I'm willing to wait them out. Trying to do the same with AEW, but I don't think their tickets are going to be as reasonable?

Worth mentioning, when Smackdown came last october, seats in the lower bowl (non camera side, where you get seen on tv) I got tickets in 119 and 121, both were around $100/ticket before fees, and I ended up selling the seats i didnt use for more than double what i had paid.

Seems this time WWE decided to take that profit themselves knowing Calgary was willing to pay up and still sell out, so i wasnt surprised it was more expensive.

Got tickets row 2 in section 120 and I'm super pumped about that.

They will but the price of the tickets won't be significantly cheaper than they are now.

It looks like there is another presale code floating around: WWEVIP

It might unlock some different seat options and also works for the Edmonton Smackdown show.

It'll be interesting to see the ratings for Dynamite tonight. I could see them popping one million for the first time since Punk left. Yet can they actually hold these viewers beyond the one segment?

The rest of the card is pretty weak, so I'd be surprised if the ratings are much higher than last week. Most people will probably go to YouTube to see the footahe.

lol kind of validated what CM Punk said IMO.

And really Tony Khan coming out and saying he feared for his life seems like a huge overreaction.

Yeah exactly. All it did was confirm what Punk said. He tried to have a conversation (he was probably "heated"). Jack Perry mouthed off and told Punk to "do something about it".... Punk acted on the threat. He seemed "in control", and didn't attack Perry without reason.

I don't see how it's at all relevant to the FTR/Bucks story. What was the point of it all?

The highlight of this is the PTSD on Schiavone's face when they came to him after the footage.

Dynamite is better than Raw after Mania so far. Sorry, but is AEW supposed to just not respond after all crap they take while they honestly deliver a pretty amazing product? Ospreay also shoved HHH’s comments back at him. CM Punk was selfish is what I got out of that and his podcast appearance.

Ok, Karen.

Anyone who doesn’t get someone pulling this s*it twice, and the second time is during companies biggest event and record draw has their head in the clouds if they think it’s without consequence. But for real, Raw was fairly disappointing, Dynamite had a solid showing. Bucks and FTR basically put things in the past and explained their side.

I'm not disputing anything you're saying. I think it's funny that no one else here is making comparisons to the two companies over this. Just lamenting the fact AEW is doing something with no possible upside because it won't help AEW at all. No one is using this to bash AEW. No one is using this to say this is why AEW sucks and WWE is great.

Then you come out of left field talking about how Dynamite is better than raw and that Punk is an ####### and Will Ospreay got one on Paul Levesque.

Also, Jan's sister was Marsha. Not Karen.

The point was to get eyes on the product, move a story forward and get their opportunity to show what they have AND have chance to talk about some stuff said about the company. So what if I’m talking about it? Punk had issues twice at major events, and got canned because of it. Something that an a**hole would do, at least TK learned his lesson and didn’t keep him around. Sorry I came out of left field talking about tonight’s show and what happened on it, I’ll run it past you next time.

Also, it was spelled Marcia. Kind of a Cindy mistake if you ask me.

I mean, sure you can't paint it that way. The reality is they're trying to "get one up" on a guy they claimed to have fired because he said some mean stuff on a podcast. It was absolutely stupid when the WWE released the poop video after Punk's turn on the Cabana podcast and it's stupid here.

How many people who listened to that podcast that aren't AEW regulars are now tuning into this. How many of them are actually going to stay after seeing this? How many are going to watch this and say "So, it's exactly like CM Punk said?" How many are going to be laughing at AEW because they just showed a video that hammered home some of the points CM Punk made? Tony stood and looked on as a mid-carder goaded his top draw into a fight. Tony "feared for his life" because CM Punk "lunged" at him but actually just took a step towards him.

CM Punk is a damn fool, but at best AEW is using a guy they claimed to have fired to try and get a rating. At worst they were trying to be vindictive and embarrass him with no concern about how it looks for their company. Either way, Punk is right. He was their biggest draw and even while working for another company he is still their best weapon for drawing eyes. They're also not in the business of really trying to make money because why the hell are they trying to use Punk to push a story line? Other than trying to "get one back"? Why not go off the fact FTR are the best tag team in the world at current? Why not go off Jack Perry being a returning prodigal son who left AEW for NJPW but missed the place he broke into the industry and became one of the four pillars.

For almost all of us, this isn't something we're talking about because WWE vs AEW. We're talking about it because it's AEW vs AEW and we are frustrated that this company keeps scoring own-goals. The only on screen angle this entire thing is really going to help push is Punk vs MacIntyre and that is frustrating to watch. But its going to start another wild fire within AEW behind the scenes as fans and non-fans alike say "But why?"

So many bad takes on what they should do with the stories here IMHO. They just made a bunch of those matter. And have a much better one than Jack just coming back and not addressing the situation, and FTR can only do the best tag team angle for so long, this made the match a lot more meaningful. Also, this is just step 1 so maybe hold off. It feels like so many people had preconceived notions about how they’d react.

My question is, what could Punk have done in this situation? He was asked by Schiavone to deal with Perry situation. At first he refused (he also mentioned that he liked Jack Perry), but Tony Khan made it known that Collision was "his" show. Punk tried to get out of the deal well before this all happened, but Khan refused to let him go. Punk has told having separate shows would solve the problem.

So Perry comes onto Collision and wants to break the window out of the rental car. Sounds pretty dumb doesn't it? Why break the window of a rental car? So eventually Punk was able to talk him out of it. Fast forward a few months later and Perry says that off remark about breaking glass on the pre-show... this was after Adam Page went off script in a previous promo. Again Punk is only reacting to problems others are causing. The only thing Punk ever really initiated was the press conference, in which Khan was sitting right next to him the entire time.

So now we're in Wembley, at first Punk asked Khan to "deal with" Perry, and Khan refused. So Punk had a conversation with Perry, and Jungle Boy egged Punk on. This was after the issue at the airport, and after The Elite cancelled that meeting they were supposed to have on the prior day. Punk was being forced into a corner, and again he asked multiple times to get out of the company. He was pushed too far, and the Jack Perry stunt pushed him over the edge. What should he have done here? I'd say this all falls at the hands of Khan more than Punk, Perry, or the Elite. Tony Khan is not a boss. I think nearly everyone would agree. He really is just a nice guy with a billion dollars in his bank account. Khan should have taken care of the issue well before all this happened. He didn't, and lost the biggedst star the company has ever had because of it.
