Sunset is 7:44. Probably 4.5 hour round.

Welp I'm a dumb-dumb and left my rangefinder on the cart after the last round during my trip to Osoyoos. It's one of those with a magnet. I packed up my stuff at the end of the round and it was stuck on the roof support and off I went.
Thankfully they have it and it's on its way back to Calgary.
Here's the funny thing. I didn't notice until I played Speargrass this weekend and somehow managed to shoot my second lowest nine of the year, sans rangefinder.
Go figure.

Just curious if you think there’s a correlation there or just a random stat. Like without the range finder you had less in your brain, thinking more middle of green vs pin etc?
Ps - glad you got it back. I think I’ve found one twice on my cart. Both times a bit surprised the course workers didn’t find it before handing over to me.

I left a magnetic Bluetooth speaker on a cart...did not get it back despite calling about 20 minutes after leaving the course.

Probably my last round of the year on Saturday at kananaskis. Looks like it should be a nice day. About 33 rounds this year. Not bad considering we had a kid in may.
Got my handicap index down to 9.8 after some lessons this spring which has made the game a lot more fun!

Curious why you'd be calling your last round this early? I don't see any season ending weather as far ahead as I can look. Should be tons of good golf left, with October always being a wildcard.

I think we've all done that a few times. When I travel away from the home course I started keeping the clamshell in the cubby hole of the cart so when I grab my phone and stuff it is a very obvious reminder to grab the rangefinder. Haven't forgot one in a couple years.

Has anyone bought a small bucket for the range at a play golf calgary course this season? I actually laughed out loud at blue devil when they came out. It was like 13 or 14 balls that barely filled the bottom of the basket.
Thought it was a mistake in spitting them out then ordered a small at serenity, same thing. Basically 50 cents a practice shot, lol. Cheap company is cheap.

It was glorious out there today! Just about the entire course to myself so I cruised around twice. First time in ages I've done that.

I have no idea. It was pretty windy so the club selection was on the tricky side. Lots of flighted shots so a precise yardage on approach shots wasn't really necessary.
Where I felt like I missed it most was inside 100y for the wedge matrix. Was a bit lost there although that still is a work in progress. That's this year's offseason project.

No Laying Up message board (their logo on the rangefinder).

Ah. No, I'm not.
When I upgraded the rangefinder, Precision Pro had a deal where I got to pick any cover. That's the one I went with.

Nanton appears to be putting serious fall effort into leaf control. Most Calgary courses don't come anywhere close, to the point where treed courses just aren't worth showing up to once the leaves start falling.

We have golf carts that pull leaf blowers that blow the leaves off the fairway into the rough.
Then we have 2 tractors that pull vacuum units that collect the leaves from the rough.
For the most part the blowing and collecting of leaves works quite well with fairways devoid of leaves. The downside if you hit your ball in the rough, then your ####ed trying to find your ball

Season ender at Blue Devil on Saturday. All was well until 18 when I blew up big time (I blame darkness).
But I'm playing in Bermuda in a couple weeks. What will be interesting is there's a PGA just over a week later, so I'm expecting super fast greens.

Went and checked out Chambers Bay today.
Place looks sweet. $5k for an annual.
