Maybe he doesn't get out of the office much, and the office staff consists only of himself and Trump?

This insane tweet...

came 25 minutes after this...

https://twitter.com/becket/status/888726520394592257

Also 10 tweets alone in about an hour has to be close to a record for the demented one. And the failing New York Times and Amazon Washington Post are pretty much the only two papers he gives his insane rambling interviews to. He is so desperate for their validation.

Trump Jr and Manafort strike a deal with the House Judiciary committee to keep their hearing with the committee close door. I wonder what kind of deal is being cut for this to happen?

Quote:
The leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee have cut a deal with President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort to avoid being subpoenaed for a high-profile public hearing next week, with the two men agreeing to provide records to the panel and to be privately interviewed ahead of any public session.

In a joint statement, panel Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dianne Feinstein said, "(W)e will not issue subpoenas for them tonight requiring their presence at Wednesday's hearing but reserve the right to do so in the future."
Feinstein tweeted later Friday evening, "The Judiciary Committee will talk to Trump Jr. & Manafort before they testify in public, but we will get answers."
Last week, Trump Jr. told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he would testify under oath about his recently revealed 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians, where he attempted to get dirt on Hillary Clinton.

He's clearly losing his mind, but this one caught my eye out of all the silliness.

Donald J. Trump‏@realDonaldTrump
While all agree the U. S. President has the complete power to pardon, why think of that when only crime so far is LEAKS against us.FAKE NEWS

Complete power to pardon who? Himself? His family? Anyone?

For a guy that's so innocent he sure doesn't act like it.

It's troubling that so much of the House Committee testimony is in secret, behind closed doors.

IMO, it represents an attack on democratic principals (not Democratic Party principals? As cliche as it sounds, the American people have a right to hear the truth (or at least the testimony).

Self-pardoning is a crazy scenario that up until this presidency would seem to be just a crazy hypothetical. Even Nixon dismissed the idea when presented with it. I like Vox's round-ups of legal opinions on these sorts of topics, and in this one there's a much greater diversity of opinion about whether a self-pardon is doable.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...on-impeachment

The general take-aways: there's nothing stopping him from doing it, but there's also nothing stopping federal prosecutors from proceeding anyway and arguing before a judge that his self-pardon is invalid; how those courts would decide is anyone's guess. But it can't shield him from impeachment (and criminal proceedings could only more forward after he's no longer president). It also can't shield him from state prosecution, and there are a number of state crimes (including money laundering and fraud) that could be turned up by Mueller's investigation that fit within state law. And based on the context, there's real possibility that the threat of self-pardoning could be considered obstruction itself.

Trumps online supporters are all in a tizzy about the "prophecy of July 27" which apparently has come from a 4chan poster dubbed "WHAnon" for White House Anonymous. Apparently this poster has been correct in the past and has claimed that the news will seem bad to Trump supporters this week, but it's all to set up something "big" which is to happen on or shortly after July 27.

Current theory is some kind of investigation or indictment of various Obama-era democrats.

It seem like the original was clearly a joke.

Seems like there's enough legitimately stupid #### going on to even bother with this one.

I don't know much about this guy but from what I've seen and read yesterday he appears to be a huge sleaze ball.

Full transparency would be to leave the old tweets up and then answer any questions about them.

What a time to be alive. Hollywood couldn't come up with a story as bats--t crazy as what we're watching unfold in real life. You'd think we'd all be used to it by now, but it seems like the insanity reaches new heights every single day. 6 months into this gong show and I still have a difficult time trying to wrap my head around the fact that this assclown is actually President.

I can only imagine how many documentaries, movies, and books are gonna be made/written about this after it's all over.

the great test arrives

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/22/u...ns-russia.html

Congressional leaders have reached an agreement on sweeping sanctions legislation to punish Russia for its election meddling and aggression toward its neighbors, they said Saturday, defying the White House’s argument that President Trump needs flexibility to adjust the sanctions to fit his diplomatic initiatives with Moscow.

...

Mr. Trump could soon face a decision: veto the bill — a move that would fuel accusations that he is doing the bidding of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia — or sign legislation imposing sanctions his administration abhors.

And Obama golfed too much?

Kyle Griffin‏@kylegriffin1

Trump has left Trump Nat'l Golf Club at 5:46PM, per pool. He spent 4 hrs, 9 mins there.

It was his 41st day at a golf course as president.

About 30 people gathered outside CNN’s Atlanta headquarters Saturday to protest the network’s coverage of President Donald Trump.

“Beware fake news” and “CNN. Criminal News Network” were some of the messages they delivered to people walking nearby and to fellow political conservatives watching the demonstration via live feed on Breitbart.com.

The protest was the second recently held outside CNN’s headquarters in downtown Atlanta.

This time it was joined by The Media Equality Project, a group started recently by two former talk show hosts, who are friends with conservative commentator Sean Hannity.

One of the organizers — Debbie Dooley, co-founder of the Tea Party activist group Main Street Patriots — said her group was outside CNN a month ago and would be back in August and September.

“We’re going to keep on holding them accountable,” Dooley said.

She said the demonstration was not necessarily to show support for Trump but to call attention to what they see as “biased” coverage of the president, the investigation into Russia’s meddling in last year’s elections, and Trump’s policies.

“We’re here to tell CNN no more fake news,” said another organizer, Melanie Morgan of the Media Equality Project. “They have to know people who are here expect fairness in journalism.”
