I’d really try to get tires or crossbars - I don’t even know if there is a good aftermarket set that will fit properly. Depending on your use case.

I've gotten Subaru to do it. Their cost on those things is cheap, lots of markup on tires. A little surprised they'd do it on an in demand vehicle like that, but it never hurts to ask for free stuff.

Ok.. 2016 Porsche Panamera with 78,000km. How much of a mistake could it possibly be?? Or how much would an aftermarket warranty be (are they worth it)?
Very tempting.

Holy crap, an air tax? Hilarious the block heater price, too. That's, like, a $120 item, and even that is extremely over priced. It's a cable and a resistance heater.

In reality it's a $30 part. You don't even need a hoist to install it, but they do it in the factory for Alberta and tack in on the bill. Total BS, but hey, cars.

I really tried to get that removed. It’s such a stupid thing. I don’t get why it’s mandatory.

What are they asking for it?
Here's one with comparable mileage but 5 years older for 25k-
https://www.calgaryautoquest.ca/vehi...ale_class=used
Edit: I see they're asking about 50 k

The Calgary one has a V6 I believe compared to the V8 (I think) for the other one.

Never bought a brand new car before, I presume? This has been a thing for decades.

If you're being charged an 'Air Tax / AC Excise' line item on a used car, you can rightfully call bullsh-t. The mandatory 'Tire Enviro Levy' is the 'Environmental Fees' line item, but again, that's a new car thing (or if you buy new tires).

I’ve decided I’ll call my sales lady and tell her I’ll buy the same vehicle from a dealer who will throw in the winter tires and rims if they don’t.

Don’t know if that’s been mentioned but WTF is an admin fee and have buyers been successful in removing it?

These are my charges I’m unsure about:
-Premium block heater, $575.94 — it’s a f’ng Toyota; I’ve owned many and rarely ever plug in; why do I need a PREMIUM block heater? I found one at another dealer for $270. I imagine the higher price accounts for installation but do I need PREMIUM? Whatever that is.
-Accessories $6,254. I’d like to know what these are.
-Dealer fees $1,733. Normal?
-Freight and PDI $1,930. Okay, I guess.
Any advice on the above is appreciated before I call my sales lady.
Thanks, everyone.

You'll have to ask what the difference is re the block heater. I have no idea what makes it premium. Maybe the cord is longer?
Freight and PDI are normal.
What accessories are you getting?

Freight and PDI is normal, but on what planet is a $1,733 dealer fee considered normal?
Also, check and see if your vehicle (specifically) was advertised without any of those extras; this could be on AutoTrader (a lot of dealers list new vehicles on there) or listed on their website. https://www.amvic.org/consumer/your-...icingisthelaw/

I've seen the refrigerant(A/C) tax, I've just never seen it called an "air tax" because it sounds ridiculous.

You... wait... you thought it was a tax... on air?
I mean I was initially going to respond incredulously that you might have thought it was that, but changed my post before submitting because I thought "no, there's no friggin' way Fuzz actually thinks it is an 'air' tax".
Welp.

Where are you in the buying process? And how do you have no idea what you’re spending the $6254 on???
I presume the premium block heater comes with the 3 cables and includes the recessed install in the lower bumper/ fascia. This as opposed to a long cord dangling out from under the hood.

No, I didn't think it was a tax on air. Come on. I'm saying the term "air tax" is silly.
