I've read that a lot of places, if you follow Hadvar or Ralof to Riverwood in their house you can do that too, you won't get a bounty and they won't retaliate.

Dammit...
I thought we were talking about attacking the bear
I've heard that too. It seems they forgot to drop your ability to get exp from them.

I can't get into the game further because of the atrocious lag on the PS3. The patch didn't do ****.

I think te update made things a lot worse. One thing that really pissed me off was after the update the "treasure map" treasures didn't show up. I went looking for the first one and it wasn't there, googled it and everyone had te same problem
It also freezes way too often, I never had it freeze before the update. It's worse than NHL 12 now

par for the course with Bethesda games unfortunately. their first few patches always seem to break more things than they fix. it really takes them about a full year to get their games to a stable and relatively bug free state

Well that seals that for me I guess. I wanted to buy Skyrim and went back and forth on whether I wanted it for PS3 so I could play on my couch, or on PC. PC it is.

I came incredibly close to buying it for PS3, but bought it off Raekwon for the 360 at a decent price instead.

How big were your save files when you ran into this problem?
I've been playing on PS3. I haven't had any problems yet, but
I have noticed the save files getting pretty large. You guys have me worried now.

In the beginning, I had no lag whatsoever... till I reached level 35. I deleted every saved file on all my PS3 games except Skyrim. It helped for a little while but afterwards the lag started again...... I also only overwrite one file only on Skyrim... didn't help at all.

As much as I like Bathesda they really are a slimy company. Every game they released is just littered with bugs and it seems to be getting progressively worse.
Like seriously, people who play the game a lot are rewarded with in-game lag and crashes? Complete BS from the company.
I've only put like 30 minutes into the game so I can't comment on my own experiences, but my brother hasn't had any problems and he plays 6 hours a day on the xbox.

Honestly it feels like they haven't tested it on the PS3 before releasing the full game to the public. Yeah there are bugs/glitches in EVERY game.... but the lag is so bad, not to mention it's on SINGLE PLAYER, I consider it is a 'game breaker'.

I'm kind of surprised with the bugs people are finding...I've put in easily 35 hours worth of gameplay into a single account (probably 50 hours with all my builds combined), and have only found one (dead bandit chief I was suppose to clear out...was fixed by claiming I already did the quest).

I haven't had any issues on 360, and just to be safe I didn't download the update. *Knock on wood*

It's the filesize of the individual saves that matter, not their combined total size. Basically, a large save file means that you have done a lot of things in the game (opened a lot of chests, moved objects around, etc, etc) that the game has to remember and eventually it runs out of memory.
I don't think there's an easy fix for that. Apparently in the past Bethesda has removed thing from the game so there are less things that have to get loaded in memory, but that seems like a far-from-ideal solution.

Heh. Well I doubt they'd remove anything really significant. How many troll skulls, ruined books and baskets does an adventurer need?
